The new scouting director's (boy that's fun to say) first point of business should be that no one is allowed to turn in a 1B only. If he's a 1B only scratch him off your list.
The lack of consistent contact is/was an issue and it showed in his brief time in the bigs. An adjustment had to be made and I'm glad he made it. He looks like a much more dangerous hitter now.
I get it but it's not like he was tearing it up down there. He's had his share of ups and downs. Either way it's great to see. He's gotta be confident as all hell. I bet he's running to the yard everyday.
Now his load is simple and much smoother. His hands are in a much better position when he gets his front foot down. Makes you wonder why the hell they didn't do this sooner.
For me it's all about ceiling and despite the injuries Adolfo still has the highest ceiling in the group. He has a chance to be an impact middle of the order bat. Walker's gonna hit. He has a short quick compact swing so consistently hitting velocity won't be an issue and he has the athleticism to make adjustments along the way.
Adolfo>Walker>Basabe>Rutherford>Gonzalez
Austin Martin should be listed as a SS. I'm pretty sure the plan is to slide him there in the spring. But yes very deep in pitchers and outfielders. Some really good catchers too.
Good point. It would be contingent on signing him to an extension (the money will be spent!).
Done
I forgot about Moncada. Same as Tim. It would have to be the right deal.
Robert, Eloy and Tim (though I may be willing to move him in the right deal) are the only untouchables in the entire organization. Everyone else is on the table. Trade whoever it takes. This organization needs an enema.
