1. Rutschman 2. Witt Jr 3. Abrams I think they take Vaughn.
-
He hurt it on Feb 23. It's a non-factor.
-
Not surprised. He had waaaaaay too much swing and miss.
-
I like Kessinger too. He'll make a nice utility type player. That Ole Miss team has some interesting guys. Cooper Johnson is the best defensive catcher in the draft (his bat is light) and 1B Thomas Dillard has as much raw power as anyone. Ryan Olenek will be a Sr sign as an OF and someone might give him a look on the mound. Illinois has their hands full in that regional.
-
Witt is far more polished a player and is a lock to stay at SS.
-
The wrist injury heard around the world.

I like Lodolo but not enough to pass up one of the position players. If I'm taking a college arm at 1-3 I need a longer track record of dominance and Lodolo struggled his first two years in college. He's having a really good Junior year but it's not enough. Take a bat with the first pick then load up on high ceiling arms. It's a down year but there are plenty of arms that could be developed into big leaguers.

Drey Jameson got knocked around a bit by Northern IL. No bueno
-
Isaiah Campbell is on the mound for Arkansas. He could be a 2nd round target.
-
Can't learn speed or athleticism but he can learn to be a good baseball player.
-
I still can't believe they let that shit bag talk to the media. They have to put a gag order on that fucking glory hound for the next 2 weeks.

JJ Cooper on twitter: 1. Carter Stewart's next 6 years an approximation. Japan: 6 year, $7 million. Stays in US. Optimistically let's say he's an early 2nd round pick. $2 million bonus. 2019: $2 million+$3,500 in salary. 2020: Let's say LoA. $6,500 in salary. 2021: HiA/AA. $8,100 in salary. (Cont.) 2. 2022: AA/AAA: $10,000 in salary 2023: MLB: $575K 2024: MLB: $600K Next 6 years in Japan: $7 million, returns as MLB free agent. Next 6 years in U.S.: Earns $3.2-$3.5 million. Will likely be arb eligible (under current CBA system) in 2025. 3. And I should make clear. According to @JeffPassan 's reporting that's $7 million he gets in the contract to go to the NPB (over six years). My hypothetical earnings for him in the U.S. depend on how he plays. Gets a signing bonus at draft time, but nothing else is guaranteed.

Meanwhile Brady Singer is throwing the absolute shit out of it. Went 7 scoreless tonght. 2.13 ERA in 50.2 IP. His next start will likely be in AA.
-
Jeff Passan✔@JeffPassan Carter Stewart's deal, which was first reported by @Ken_Rosenthal, is expected to be finalized at the end of May. It is a fascinating story, one that could potentially pave a path for American amateurs to reach free agency at a far younger age than usual. More details soon @ESPN.
-
That's not the scenario he described. He's talking about a player that was already selected in the draft and just offer him slot. That player still has the option to go back to school.
-
Ok then you don't sign the best player you drafted.
-
Boras has been wanting to do this for years and he finally found his man. He's going to use this as leverage for years.
-
RHP Carter Stewart has reached an agreement on a contract with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Japanese Pacific League. Weird development here. I wonder if his wrist is worse than many thought so he's grabbing some money while he can.
-
It's the Nick Madrigal conundrum. Sure it's good to put the bat on the ball but if it's a pitchers pitch and all you can do is generate a weak groundball or a lazy flyball it really isn't that much better than striking out. I don't think this will be the case with Abrams because he'll be much bigger and stronger and will be able to drive the ball with authority unlike Lil Nicky.
-
Abrams has an advanced understanding of his swing and what he wants to do at the plate. You don't see that very often with High School hitters. It's a seperator because it will help him work thru slumps faster. Jarred Kelenic was like that. Abrams has a real chance to be a special player. Short to it and long thru it. Love it.
-
Byron Buxton is another good example of this. His plus plus speed and plus plus defense allowed him to take his lumps at the big league level and now his bat is coming around at the ripe old age of 25 we're getting a glimpse at just how devastating a player he can be.

Sheets fuckin blows. Numb nuts Hostetler wouldn't know a big leaguer if one hit him upside the head with a fungo. I can't wait until they kick that shitbag to the curb.
