It's insulting. Having an owner with two major league franchises at that . It's the one chance we have to make a dent in the top of the market with less competition. Dj Lemahieu got 15mm average. Why not take advantage of signing a difference maker as opposed to trading heavy assets? It's not even about Bauer at this point. -
Garrett Richards to Boston, 1 year $10 million.
Ben Waffleson replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Guy has only pitched 198.2 innings since 2016.. Why should a contending team touch him ? Seems like a perfect fit for a rebuilding team to MAYBE flip at the deadline IF he stays healthy. If were being cheap, give me Rick Porcello instead. Maybe we can get him to rebound, hes been healthy at least. Since 2016 Richards- 3.6 BB/9 198.2 innings 2.59 SO/W Porcello- 2.0 BB/9 851 innings 4.03 SO/W Porcello is coming off a down year. 1-7 , 12 starts , 5.64 ERA and only made 10MM. Also, his FIP was 3.33 which was actually lower than his 2016 CY Young season of 3.40. If were going to the bargin bin, get a guy who can provide innings, not an injury risk. Since this is about Garrett Richards though, I'd stay far away from him . -
Don't need the DH. Take the money you would use for a SP or a bigger trade.

Dewon Day and Als cheesey beef accounts have the same credibility. I'll give the edge to Dewon since he doesn't post 10-15 times a day about only Liam Hendriks. -

Thats why I understand the Brad Hand link. He had 10.5m left and went completely unclaimed. You have to imagine hes gonna cost >8-9m -

Who said both? Relax. Was implying that they had interest in both. Your sounding like the loon here. -

Madrigal could be ready for opening day
Ben Waffleson replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He only played 71 games between AA and AAA. For 29 games in the MLB I have nothing to complain about. Unless we get a cost controlled Ace SP, makes no sense to trade him. Why trade a rookie who only struck out 7 times in 29 AB hitting .340? Forget the few blunders, it's part the rookie experience. -

If free agents would sign within the first few weeks then a trade market could develop. I can imagine the big names on the market deter clubs from engaging in certain trade talk. I think the off season would be more entertaining and less of a scatter for the fans and front office alike. -

Seriously. NBA free agency starts and they're all signed by the end of the week. We are in January and all of the big name free agents are still out there. Don't know what could be done to speed it up each year , but it needs to. -

Wish the Tommy LaStella talk would stop. Reminds me of signing a left handed Jeff Keppinger.
