  1. Fine. Don’t listen to my opinion. Just look at what a much better front office with a winning team did with Renteria as soon as their kids came of age. What does that tell you?
  2. People have to answer to their bosses on a daily basis. Since the Sox front office apparently doesn’t care about Ricky’s performance, it can’t be very tough to face the media knowing that they can’t fire you.
  3. Cry Ricky a river. He’s getting paid money to manage a game, and to do it well. Oh wow, he has to answer tough questions by the media... How about not making such awful decisions and then you won’t get questioned? He’s a terrible manager and needs to go.
  4. Yep. The Twins signed Nelson Cruz for $14 million dollars for this season with a cheaper $12 million dollar team option for next year. Cruz is currently sporting a ridiculous 1.040 OPS. Hahn wasted $13 million combined on both Alonso and Jay. Alonso is long gone and I’m afraid to even look at Jay’s OPS. Pretty awful.
  5. It’s amazing how the pitching strategy doesn’t change, regardless of the batter or his tendencies.
  6. Benetti talking about Nelson Cruz beating the aging process again. ?
  7. Nelson Cruz still owns the Sox. Why did we end up with the awful roider in Castillo instead of the good one in Cruz?
  8. They really should. Why won’t they? There are no more waiver trades anymore so there is no justification for keeping them on the roster and playing them.
  9. Bad time for a HR, especially after getting to 2 outs without the run scoring. Ouch.
  10. I would tend to agree with you, especially regarding Engel, but Cordell has only 256 career plate appearances. There really is zero reason to start Jay over Cordell at this point. Give the at bats to players that may actually be around next year, even if it’s in a fourth outfielder role.
  11. I’m curious how this all came up. Did one of the awful beat reporters finally grow some balls and question Ricky on his BS decision-making?
  12. Score another high hard one for Abreu and Greg’s tighty whities.
  13. But are guys like Yermin and Mendick really going to upset or prevent the tank? I doubt it. Instead, we are wasting at bats on the likes of Jay, Castillo, Goins, and Skole.
  14. Anyone (Cordell, Engel) would be a better option than Jay right now. The season is over and Jay will not be back. Why waste at bats on him?
  15. I don’t think even Hahn could answer this question with a reasonable response. Why are we watching these old scrubs (Castillo, Jay, Skole, Goins) with zero future with the Sox over guys with a potential future like Collins, Yermin, and Mendick? Is Hahn worried about service time for guys that are already 25 to 27 years old?!?
  16. It’s a combination of loyalty and ego, and it isn’t working.
  17. Jay has been starting since the trade deadline and is in the starting lineup as we speak. Hahn trying to trade him obviously wasn’t the only reason Ricky was playing him. Ricky loves playing Jay and putting him in stupid parts of the lineup based on his left handedness.
  18. You said it — his reputation with young players. But I remember Cubs fans absolutely despising his in-game management and strategy and love of the bunt, just like many Sox fans currently do. Also, notice how Theo dumped his ass the second a better manager became available and the kids came of age?
  19. But what about the chance for Cole to earn an additional $50 million in incentives if he pitches 200+ innings at ages 34 and 35?
  20. Perhaps Hahn is just an evil genius and is keeping Ricky employed because he knows Ricky will unintentionally tank more games with his awful in-game strategy than an average skilled manager and guarantee Hahn more high first round picks? ?
  21. Not surprising at all. For a poster who always wants to “JUST WIN BABY”, you sure love supporting stupid opinions by our stupid manager which actually leads to the team losing more games. How ironic.
  22. Haha, good analogy. Ricky is living in the past, the old era of baseball. He isn’t going to change.
