  1. But he isn’t learning from his mistakes. His bunting obsession is ridiculous and the fact that our GM has to release a player because Ricky will use him improperly means that he will never learn or change. Ricky needs to go.
  2. Please get fired yesterday. He’s an old school manager who “trusts his gut” and he has no place in today’s game if baseball. The fact that he angrily replied to a question about analytics means he likely hates them.
  3. Machado is having a down year, no doubt. However, you seem to think this is who Machado is now, which I disagree with.
  4. If you are going to go dumpster diving, this is the way it should be done. Don’t go after guys you know will simply be mediocre if they stay healthy.
  5. Musgrove is mediocre and has what, two years left of control? I wouldn’t trade Lopez for Musgrove straight up, much less throw in Steele Walker.
  6. That must have been a short conversation.
  7. You know if we resign Nova, he’s the second best starter Hahn gets this offseason. Let’s pass please.
  8. I think I know what Ron is getting at. I have heard Stone say countless times that ERA doesn’t matter for a closer. It drives me nuts everytime Stone says it.
  9. Wow, Ricky is really batting Jay cleanup between Abreu and Eloy because he is a lefty. Does Ricky even have any supporters left?
  10. I don’t like the idea at all. You have the chance to greatly improve the rotation this offseason. I would hold off on signing a #4 / #5 starter until all other better options have signed elsewhere.
  11. If this happens, I will praise the move. Problem is, I don’t see us getting Cole either. He’s a pitcher and I don’t think the Sox want to take on that kind of long-term injury risk.

I can hear the scream right now. ? It sucks that they got hacked but the best and most knowledgeable Sox fans are here. I don’t always agree with everyone here and vice versa but no one bans me for my posts. You guys may rip on me for my posts but that is to be expected and sometimes deserved. ?
  13. Rutherford will likely never see the Sox outfield. He shouldn’t be grouped with Robert and Eloy.
  14. I’d rather give Grandal $60 million and bring back McCann at his one year arbitration cost, as opposed to guaranteeing McCann $25 million.
  15. Moncada is buddies with Castillo now. Moncada had a bad season last year but has been amazing this year. But what about all those nagging injuries this year? He must be juicing too!
  16. Ultimately, I’m pretty indifferent on bringing him back for a year or two. But the second Vaughn is up, Abreu had better be moving to DH full-time.
  17. I still don’t see any advantage to extending him. Pay him his arbitration money and reassess when he is a free agent. He’s not going to become some stud that is so good that you can’t afford him at 30 years old. But the risk of him tanking hard next season is much greater than any money you would save extending him now.
  18. That’s great but do you trust Strasburg to stay healthy or Bumgarner’s stuff to not decline further? A young team like the Sox should be looking to stay young, not get older. Hence, why Machado and Harper would have been great signings. I’d rather have Cole. Younger and still has his stuff.
  19. Check that, they will both be 31. Duhhh... because they will expect contracts that will be way more years than they will be good for. You want to give both of them 5 year deals? Cuz that’s what they will probably get.
  20. Keep in mind you are choosing two 30 year old starting pitchers over a 26 year old infielder, one with an injury history and one with declining stuff. I’m not so sure your decision would be the correct one.
  21. He was in the bathroom stall injecting Machado in the butt cheek like Jose Canseco did for McGwire.
  22. The Sox have enough money for one of Machado and Harper last year and both Strasburg and Bumgarner this year. But don’t expect any of them. ?
  23. I can’t argue with you here. It makes zero sense. When guys like Yermin and Mendick are already older to begin with, what does their service time matter? And that’s honestly the only reason to keep them down at this point. It makes no sense. Why would you give guys with no Sox future like Goins and Skole playing time instead of evaluating Yermin and Mendick?
