  1. Yep, he would be a fan favorite for all the older fans who remembered when he played for them.
  2. Yep. Sox don't pay big money for managers as history has shown. And the Cubs will have a better chance of winning next year than the Sox.
  3. More like most money... and the Cubs would easily win that contest.
  4. No, you need to reserve all your power and ridiculous posts to defend Abreu and his .791 OPS and shoddy defense.
  5. This is why people laugh at you. You defend Abreu for tanking it now that the Sox don't have any shot at the playoffs. Well, if what you say is true, fuck Abreu for not trying when he is earning $16 million this year. I hope they don't bring him back next year if he is really not trying while earning $16 million.
  6. I still like him as a good backup if they can somehow sign Grandal. But yeah, McCann is sinking faster than the Titanic.
  7. Well, your favorite player Abreu better get on Cruz's juice cuz his defense and numbers are going to shit.
  8. I have a feeling we would all hate Vizquel because the word is he likes bunting as much as Ricky. I would definitely be cool with Girardi.
  9. Wrong. Show me the evidence of this. The Sox got overbid on their ridiculous incentive-based contract. It was known in the media that Machado was waiting for an offer of $300 million guaranteed. The Sox wouldn't do it. Hence, he signed with the Padres. They offered $300 million guaranteed. This isn't fucking rocket science.
  10. I would love an Alex Wood signing but he should be the SECOND free agent pitcher they sign, after the ace (Cole/Strasburg/Bumgarner). But I have a feeling it will be Wood and some much cheaper flier as the two starters they sign.
  11. Yep. Alex Wood. It is so obvious. Not that he wouldn't be a good acquisition, but they need to sign an ace with the amount of money they have available. Wood should be the SECOND starter they sign.
  12. Except Machado was a position player which are usually much less prone to injury than a starting pitcher. I bet the Sox have a much higher risk rating on a long-term contract for a starting pitcher at age 28/29 at around $175 to $200 million than they did on Machado at age 26 at $300+ million.
  13. My God, this is embarrassing. Now, Stone, Benetti, and Garfien are hyping up Engel because of that HR. Talking about his massive power... seriously?
  14. Yep, I don't get it. How many times do the Sox have to whiff in free agency for people to not know this?
  15. The Sox are now thinking about starting Engel in CF and Robert in RF next season.
  16. Yep. The Sox think they can sign FA's at their price and then are left standing there with their schvonce in their hands. No top free agent is going to sign a deal with incentive-based garbage over guaranteed money. The Sox are ridiculous.
  17. Money talks, bullshit walks. Top free agents go to where the most money is. The Sox tend to back out when they don't get a guy at their own price.
  18. Reed hasn't met a worm-burner pitch he won't swing at. This Reed experiment should be over. He sucks.
  19. Every opposing pitcher knows that sliders low and away are the White Sox kryptonite.
  20. When Goins has a better approach at the plate than most of our hitters, we need to dump Steverson.
  21. He needs to be gone. Bunting for one run and getting none in the first inning against a team with a great offense. He's a fucking moron.
  22. Didn't you make the exact same post in the last game thread? ?
