You can count them by game with Anderson. I also mentioned another dumb move he made over the weekend when he tried to steal 3B in a situation in which no one should ever be attempting to steal 3B — on 2B with no outs and losing by multiple runs.

I assume this guy will be our replacement for Yolmer Sanchez because he is getting too pricey for a backup infielder going forward. But I don’t see how guaranteeing an unproven “Yogurt” Sanchez $2.5 million is much better.
He isn’t. Remember when he was caught stealing 3B over the weekend? Abreu has also saved his ass on quite a few routine garbage dirtball throws to 1B as well.
I don’t think there is any “burying” the Sox at this point. Every time they get close to or hit .500, they slide back. It’s pretty evident that they don’t have enough pitching, definitely not in the putrid rotation.
Either way, I’m selling high in Colome. I’d also deal Abreu if anyone is interested.
“Can o’ corn, chopper-two-hopper, Yaz, Catfish Hunter, TWTW, you couldn’t pull a greased tee outta my behind with a pair of pliers, sacks packed with seamen.”
I know it’s in there somewhere.
Anyone worried McCann’s season will lead to an extension, passing on Grandal, and then McCann reverts back to his former Detroit Tiger self?
I guess any way the Sox choose to go, McCann likely isn’t going to be paid a huge painful sum.
Pretty nuts to think that he may get as much as Machado and Harper. I wouldn’t give it to him but his stats are pretty damn great and he has age (26) on his side. Can he play a legit CF? That would make it more likely.

What’s the most recent starting pitcher signing closest to the age and quality of Cole?
Patrick Corbin last year? He isn’t even as good as Cole and he still signed for 6-years and $140 million.
You are probably right to question the chances of signing Cole. Reinsdorf likely won’t allow Hahn to sign a pitcher for those many years or that many millions.
Ozuna has a much better chance of happening than Cole, and I am not optimistic on Ozuna either.
