  1. Chapman and his 103 mph fastball had a ton more perceived value as a lockdown closer than Colome ever will, regardless of the additional year of control. The Cubs might not even win the WS with Colome over Chapman.
  2. They had to give up 2 good relievers and a 3B for basically that one legit prospect. How does that compare to trading Colome only for a top 50 prospect?!? Also, there will be a bunch of good relievers that hit the trade market soon. Supply and demand my friend.
  3. He still won’t net a top 50 prospect. You be dreaming, my friend.
  4. That’s cuz Renteria and Cooper could write a book on trying to milk 6 inning from your cashed out starter only to end up blowing the lead and your bullpen out.
  5. Yep. Hahn probably has a shrine to McCann and he prays to it daily for saving him a ton more of hate for his signings.
  6. Fire them both then. Cooper for being out of touch with reality and Renteria for blindly agreeing with him.
  7. How could anyone have that terrible of a feel for the game and not see that his starter is done
  8. Fire Renteria. He is garbage.
  9. It is so White Sox to try to force a pitcher to go 6 innings even when it makes the game close.
  10. Garcia and Yolmer will be too expensive to pay as bench players. Yolmer already makes too much. And when you are a Sox fan, bench players are apparently everyday starters. I’d rather move them if possible.
  11. Agreed on the first part but I think we should strive higher than a .700 OPS at 2B. He has developed into a good bench player though.
  12. I would look to move all three guys before the deadline for prospects. I thought I was pretty clear.
  13. Trade them both, along with Colome. Sell high.
  14. Oh dear, Mike Huff. Hope he’s just there for a five minute visit. ?
  15. Let’s play the Royals 162 games.
  16. Dude has a .591 OPS. Yolmer would be a better DH than Alonso right now and I can’t stand Yolmer.
  17. Rich Hahn, ladies and gentlemen. ??
  18. It sure seems like this is due to his hitting strategy and never wanting to K. Not going to have high exit velocity or hit many extra base hits and homeruns if you cut down on your swing and almost always swing for contact. I wonder if he will ever learn the fine balance of the two types of swings based on the situation and/or count.
  19. I asked a simple question. Sounds likes you guys aren’t very high on his chances judging by your flippant responses. I figured it would be okay to ask about another prospect that the team may have penciled in to play 2B rather soon considering they currently have Yolmer there. EDIT: Pardon my intrusion. A lot of info on Madrigal in the 5/27 Games thread.
  20. I was responding to MyNamesRod and Fathom because they mentioned some other prospects in his same class (e.g., Mize and Kelenic). I’m not worried about Robert at all. He’s legit.
  21. See how he finishes the session. Hell, see how he does next year too. The Sox should be concerned that he reverts back to his bad Tigers version.
  22. Just another bad decision from a management team that makes a lot of them. They thought hiring a fan favorite as manager would appease the fans from being upset at following a terrible team. It definitely backfired.
  23. With all the money Hahn already burned up last offseason, I would be surprised if Jerry gave him license to potentially burn more mid-season.
  24. No, actually I think I accurately explained the reason. I don’t disagree with you but I would guess that many more boys are playing catch than girls at young ages. I don’t think this is an outlandish thought.
