Yup, they do. Michael Reinsdorf is still impressed by GarPax drafting Derrick Rose over ten years ago, based on his radio (The Score) interviews this past week. This team will be in the dumps longer than the White Sox.
Reinsdorf-owned teams are the clown shoes operations of both the NBA and MLB.
I was just being lenient. My point was that they likely won’t be bad enough going forward to get a top 3 draft pick so they won’t ever improve, hence NBA hell.
I assume you aren’t a Bulls fan if you are happy with the 4th worst record Bulls falling to 7?
Now that they are good enough to win half or so of their games and won’t be drafting any stars, the Bulls aren’t worth watching for another 5 years.
Sure, it is but Kenny couldn’t even land one first round hitting prospect that turned into an All-Star with the White Sox when he had the final say during a 13 year period as the Sox GM from 2000 to 2012.
Only if he would sign for the minimum. The Sox have plenty of guys who can put up an ERA over 5. What would be the point? Shields isn’t helping you win anything either.
I know. It does seem like the draft philosophy changed to more baseball players with high OBP as opposed to athletes and football players turned baseball players like when Kenny was drafting.
I like Abreu but it would be so like Hahn to spend a big chunk of change on a 33 year old 1B. Unless he wants to sign for a hometown discount, trade him for a decent prospect. A good GM should be able to find a decent 1B all over the place. Oh wait, I said “a good GM.”
Honestly, he’s all I can think of as a player the Sox drafted that they would like to have back. Just goes to show how bad Kenny has been at running the draft.
I just looked at all the Sox All-Stars throughout the years here:
https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/history/all-stars
I don’t believe one of them was drafted after Kenny was made GM in 2000. Embarrassing.
