  1. Yep, he’s a top target. I have no problem with the Sox saving for the top guys (Luis Robert, Yolbert Sanchez) than pay a bunch of mediocre guys who will never make the majors.
  2. More info on this guy... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mlb.com/amp/news/yolbert-sanchez-cleared-to-sign-in-mlb-c303000804.html I guess he played with Luis Robert.
  3. I’d rather have one Machado and one starting pitcher signing than all the trades acquisitions and signings that Hahn made this offseason.
  4. I don’t think those things are related. Whiffing on Machado was a joke but Burger does look too heavy regardless. Also, I think the Eloy extension was a good move. I also don’t think it should be any surprise that people are still upset about whiffing on Machado. After showing interest in Machado for a year and guaranteeing the fans that “the money will be available,” Hahn spent $50 million on mediocre players this offseason and failed to sign Machado for exactly $50 million dollars. I mean, that’s just priceless.
  5. The Indians are managing their roster with the payroll they have to work with. I have no doubt they will still be competitive in the division and I’m pretty sure their payroll is still much higher than the Sox. The Sox had much more money to spend than the Indians and didn’t. Also, if we were in the Indians shoes and the White Sox wanted to take Alonso and his $9 million off our hands for a fringe prospect, we would have all jumped for joy. He is a mediocre player and not worth $9 million dollars. Finally, if Lindor was a White Sox, doesn’t anyone actually think the Sox would be able to extend him either?
  6. I don’t believe there is a rule, unless the player has a no trade clause in their contract, and Jon Jay sure as hell ain’t getting that. Regardless, I doubt the Cubs will cut bait on Happ so soon after drafting him so high.
  7. I’m not knocking it. I said I’m jealous of it.
  8. On a team that isn’t going anywhere this year? Hell, you could play Happ everyday in RF or 2B. He plays both positions and we currently have bench players at those positions. I would probably choose RF for Happ since Madrigal is destined for 2B and Palka should be at DH with Alonso far away from this team at or before the trade deadline.
  9. Straily is older and a known quantity of bad. Giolito is at least younger and can prove one way or another this year if he is worth keeping or dumping.
  10. We’ll see. They could easily win the Central as they currently stand. Since 2007, the Indians have won 4 Central Division titles and 1 Wild Card berth. Since 2007, the White Sox have won 1 Central Division title. The Indians have obviously spend money a lot more wisely than the Sox in recent years.
  11. Apparently, they spend their money a lot more wisely than Hahn does.
  12. I wish I could live in my mom’s basement and scream for meatloaf when I am hungry. I am envious of that life.
  13. Not JR but I believe Hahn in the past stated that he follows social media and message boards. And no, I don’t believe they make decisions based on message boards posts but that couldn’t be any worse than the offseason Hahn had.
  14. You’re right. I’m going to accept the obvious that the Sox won’t be legitimate players in free agency. Hopefully, Hahn can trade Rodon for another Eloy type prospect.
  15. The Sox may need to increase their budget for buying their own pitching regardless of Theo since most of their guys are going down with TJ surgery.
  16. Those quotes make it seem pretty obvious that the Sox signing Machado or Harper was likely a pipe dream the entire time. Jerry is fine with locking guys up if he thinks he is getting a discount but he isn’t willing to pay market value.
  17. Yep, LaHair was actually an Allstar for the Cubs in 2012 cuz of a hot first half. Then he tanked in the second half and was never in the majors again.
  18. I posted this in another thread. Apparently the Cubs are interested in a CF. Send the Cubs Jon Jay, the $4 million dollars Hahn wasted on him, and a reliever for Happ.
  19. Everyone who doesn’t want to waste $9 million on a mediocre player to fit into the easiest position to fill.
  20. Package Jay and the $4 million dollars Hahn wasted on him with a reliever for Ian Happ.
  21. He’s just one more former top free agent option for next offseason that Hahn won’t be spending the money on that he promised to spend.
  22. Congrats to Hahn. He locked up a guy who was already locked up. Too bad he can’t do the same with premier free agents.
  23. Palka should be our DH but since Hahn completely choked his offseason, we get to watch Yonder Alonso waste DH at bats for $9 million.
  24. I don’t buy any of the BS regarding more interested teams because the rumor was spilled out on Twitter. Joc is still a Dodger and has not been traded. More than likely, Hahn fucked up the trade or dropped out of the trade once he whiffed on Machado.
