  1. Pretty much, unless they can swing a trade for Diaz, which is probably wishful thinking. That’s the only huge way I see them improving the bullpen by adding a closer with his stuff and dropping every reliever back a slot. Other than Diaz, Betances was probably the only guy they could’ve signed that would’ve made a big impact but he wanted to stay in New York.
  2. I think it’s very reasonable to think that the combination of Mendick and Leury could perform as well as Holt at 2B and we already have them. I have no faith that Engel could perform as well as a myriad of RF options, including Pillar, Pence, and Zobrist. But whatever, it’s not my money. Holt will probably go to a team like the Cubs who don’t have much money to spend but he can get the most at bats as a starter at 2B. The Sox already have Madrigal coming to take the job, along with Leury and Mendick. I don’t see the fit for Holt and I doubt his agent does either.
  3. That would’ve been like Linebrink all over again.
  4. I’m not even saying that Hudson couldn’t be better than Cishek next season but most of the stats point to Cishek being the better bet. I’d be fine with Hahn signing Cishek, Hudson, or McHugh honestly.
  5. What is your point? What indicates that Hudson can handle high leverage situations and Cishek can’t? You still haven’t shown any evidence of this...
  6. Similar ages and Hudson has no consistency of being a top reliever other than last season. Cishek does. What are you talking about? Look at their stats please.
  7. The Sox don’t need Mendick to be productive over long stretches, unless Madrigal gets hurt. And they still have Leury. I don’t think the Sox will sign both an infielder and an outfielder. I think they will sign one guy, ideally to fill both spots (Zobrist?).
  8. Cishek had 6 saves last regular season. Hudson has 8. Your arguments aren’t holding much water.
  9. Im starting to think he just likes Hudson more because he’s an ex-Sox prospect.
  10. Cishek served as a closer for both the Marlins and the Mariners and has 132 career saves. Hudson has 17 career saves.
  11. I really don’t see Holt being worth the money with Mendick and Leury around to play 2B/SS and Madrigal soon to be up. I’d rather sign a right-handed right fielder for the bench.
  12. Can I ask why? Cishek has been better in his career as a reliever than Hudson and they are around the same age.
  13. He first tweeted Sox interest in Harris, Cishek, and Diaz on Monday. Of course, it could just be throwing a bunch of shit at the wall. https://mobile.twitter.com/NOTCishek/status/1211865782126338048
  14. The Sox already have two guys who may be in the bullpen that could be flier one year wonder types in Marshall and Cordero. Sign someone with a bit of consistency. Not someone for 3 years and $24 million. A cheaper guy. But it’s only a little bit of money dude.
  15. Cishek it is? https://mobile.twitter.com/NOTCishek/status/1212930499091607553
  16. I wonder if this further pushes the NOT Steve Cishek guy being an insider? He just tweeted tonight that the Sox were aggressively pursuing Harris but reported that they were in on Cishek too. Maybe the Nationals topped the Sox offer with this ridiculous deal so now the Sox pounce on Cishek instead?
  17. Horrifying deal for an age 35 reliever. The last two years of the deal could easily be money burned in the fireplace like Alonso and Jay last year. Still some good options... Cishek, Hudson, McHugh, Stammen...
  18. Agreed. 35? No problem whiffing on him. Ridiculous deal.
  19. Why did this NOT Steve Cishek dude get booted from Twitter? It looks like this is his second account?
  20. I am very curious on the Mets price for him. He had a down year (ERA) but his peripherals indicate he isn’t likely to be bad next year. He’s under control for two years. He is probably one of the only targets I may be okay giving up Collins for. I just really don’t want to give up on the potential and years of control on Collins. But I wonder if Collins and Rutherford could get it done? If the Mets ask for Stiever you tell them to go sit and spin.
  21. Great deal for them. McCann is a little cheaper on a one year deal as well and I would still consider dealing him for a good reliever.
  22. Greg is happy the guy he didn’t want the Sox to dump still has life! https://mobile.twitter.com/Feinsand/status/1212886058393882630
  23. Seriously, biggest weakness now once Hahn adds to the bullpen is Renteria’s in-game management skills.
  24. I am fine with signing one of these outfielders: Ben Zobrist / Kevin Pillar / Hunter Pence And signing one of these relievers: Will Harris / Collin McHugh / Steve Cishek And trading for Edwin Diaz. Win division.
