  1. At this rate, Hahn would be wise to no show.
  2. And his management group gets 5 to 7 percent of that? Dude is an icon to his craft.
  3. With all the Boras clients left on the board being the top FA targets available... if the Sox don’t sign any of them, I think we can all finally put to bed the denial that the Sox don’t want to negotiate with Boras.
  4. That much is obvious. It’s much easier to be cheap and mediocre.
  5. Technically, Moncada could have played wherever the Sox wanted him to, including right field.
  6. Damn, the Machado money from last year could’ve gotten it done... https://mobile.twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/1204968808797990913
  7. No, but he’s the mediocre fallback option in free agency when much better targets were available.
  8. Pretty much. But beggars can’t be choosers.
  9. Your logic makes perfect sense but Keuchel’s agent still has me questioning the Sox getting him signed.
  10. They aren’t even going to spend that $250 million total of Machado money from last year on multiple players for another year or more, according to Hahn.
  11. I wouldn’t be surprised if Keuchel is too rich for their blood.
  12. Impressive. This year’s KatyPerysBootyHole, but for the Angels.
  13. $73 million is a far cry from $250 million. Time to start playing with the big boys if you want to win like the big boys.
  14. Yes, it’s like Hahn thinks the fans are stupid and don’t know that the payroll has been epically low over the past few years of the rebuild and their revenue has been up as a result.
  15. And what about the holes in the rotation? I wouldn’t think of signing Castellanos before acquiring a SP or two.
  16. “The money will be spent... ... very slowly over the next few years... ... subtracting all of the money we spend on core player arbitration raises and extensions... ... and so slowly that you won’t even notice that we didn’t actually spend the money.”
  17. I actually wouldn’t mind that signing, if he was the second pitcher signed. Knowing this front office, they would bring him in as their primary SP signing.
  18. Reinsdorf isn’t. He is laughing at your idea right now.
  19. Hahn is still committed to the idea that “the money will be spent,” though he’s not 100-percent committed to it all being spent in one place. “I think it would be awfully foolish to say we're going to go out and spend whatever the amount of the offer (to Manny Machado) was immediately,” he said. “The point of that comment was there's other ways for us to allocate this money, and it's going to be allocated toward player acquisitions. “You could argue some of it went to (Yasmani) Grandal, you could argue some of it went to the Eloy (Jimenez) extension or re-signing (Jose) Abreu or whatever we have coming down the pipe needs. “That offer was over an eight- to 10-year period, so to say it's all going out the door in Year 1 just because it's sitting there, maybe, but it's got to be for the right players.”
  20. I am surprised people are even shocked or upset by Rendon to the Angels news. The Sox probably never even inquired on his price.
  21. Many have long believed this. Is Carlos Rodon currently our only big Boras client?
