  1. This was the offseason the Sox were supposed to spend money on top targets. If the Sox start signing veterans who are contemplating heading to Japan, we may as well give up on this offseason. https://mobile.twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1204115953685938176
  2. Indeed. Pretty sad that DVS appears to be writing his own narrative. Is he a Cubs fan? ?
  3. Sure seems like Van Schouwen is using his own interpretation of Hahn’s comments, along with some other scout sources.
  4. That really isn’t what I complained about with The Mandalorian but if my posted opinions on a stupid Disney show affect you this greatly, maybe you are the one who needs a new hobby, as opposed to going off on posters who question the Sox front office. You may run out of cities to threaten to move to. ? I was actually excited about adding Ozuna until it apparently turned out to be bogus.
  5. Why would he care about park dimensions and any impact it may have on his numbers once he signs that fat Boras contract?
  6. If that was the case, I’d eat all of Happ’s remaining contract. However, Cashman isn’t stupid.
  7. Happ makes zero sense to acquire when you could’ve just signed Hamels to a similar contract. And he’s better than Happ.
  8. Years of experience with this team’s failures have made many this way.
  9. They are stuck with that awful contract. Myers is trash. 2020: $20 million 2021: $20 million 2022: $20 million 2023: $20 million club option ($1 million buyout)
  10. Old school, giving out his number. He must not believe in Grindr.
  11. He should stick with “poop” cuz his trade ideas blow.
  12. I think you are right that similar tier players impact each other’s contracts the most but I could see teams also scaling salaries for lower tier starters based on what the big boys receive. I could see teams seeing what Cole and Strasburg receive and thinking, hey, Ryu and Keuchel aren’t aces but after seeing the top dogs get $250 to $300 million, I’ll pay these two guys a bit more since we need a starter badly and don’t want to miss out on the next best options. I now think Wheeler messed up by not waiting for both Strasburg and Cole to sign. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would’ve received $10 to $20 more million.
  13. I think they are all related, but Wheeler moreso, and I already mentioned Wheeler’s contract impacting MadBum’s price in my initial post.
  14. Supply and demand. Wheeler’s contract didn’t impact MadBum’s price? Almost every MLB reporter would disagree and I’m sure you can find numerous tweets about it.
  15. The signings of Wheeler and Strasburg are just increasing the dollars that the remaining FA starters receive. Just look at the rumored dollars for MadBum. And what the hell did Wheeler’s fiancé do to make you say that? That is a far leap from wanting to be close to her family.
  16. Sure did. Sounded like Rick snapped back at Bruce.
  17. Actions speak louder than words. The Grandal signing worked cuz they struck while the iron was hot. Slow-playing the market has resulted in epic fails for Hahn.
  18. I love that kind of urgency. It sure worked well last offseason and with Wheeler this offseason. ?
  19. I guess he still has a few more hours until Monday is officially over.
  20. Because Reinsdorf doesn’t want to spend that much of his money?
  21. He’s a bit older, his stuff has declined, and with Boras as his agent, he will likely get paid too much based on his past performance rather than what his future holds.
