Do you really think this contract is in any way reflective of the current free agent market? Arguably the first or second best available free agent outfielder who just turned 29 is going to sign a 3 year deal?

You are jumping the gun quite a bit and are assuming good careers for four pitchers who have done nothing in the majors so far.

I‘m not so sure about the cost of Joc being only fringe prospects. I realize that Pham was under control for two years but he still cost more than fringe prospects. I guess we will see the true cost of guys like Joc and Peralta when and if they are traded.

So who would you acquire? Cuz the Red Sox outfielder for next year is a pipe dream... as is Cole, Strasburg, and Rendon. People seem to think they can will the Sox front office into acquiring a $200 - $300 million dollar player by simply talking about it. It ain’t happening...

There is no perfect fit that won’t cost talent. Who is a better fit than Ozuna who will only cost money (and a second round draft pick)?
