  1. And having to trade away multiple talents to fill your holes — Torres, Soler, Eloy, Cease, Vogelbach, Paredes.
  2. Give Timmay the batting title now. He wants it bad.
  3. Why wouldn’t he? Ross is a fan favorite and would be cheaper than Girardi.
  4. Cubs fans loved “Rossie.” ? Female Cubs fans especially liked him because they thought he was a good looking older dude and he was on Dancing With The Stars. I think you underestimate how much Cubs fans like David Ross and are overestimating Girardi’s “gravitas.” Girardi hasn’t been associated with the Cubs in quite some time and Ross was a part of the 2016 World Series winner. Theo has signed Ross to be a backup catcher with both the Red Sox and Cubs and he has won a WS ring with both teams. Theo also hired Ross to be a special assistance to the team’s baseball operations department. Ross was also watching a Cardinals/Cubs game in a box with Theo last weekend. All the signs point to Ross at this point.
  5. Keep in mind, their new network is launching in 2020. I know Cubs fans will likely pay up for it regardless because they are lemmings, but I could see the Cubs not wanting to trade away any of their big name players coming off a chokejob of a season and potentially lose some paying network customers. I think it’s more about perception to the Cubs brass now and they want to make money based on past performances. Plus, their competitive window with their core group of players is likely only open for two more seasons before free agency hits them hard (Bryant, Baez, Rizzo, and Schwarber).
  6. I’m not so sure. Last offseason, after all of Theo’s talk about big changes, only the hitting coach Chili Davis took the fall. This offseason, letting Maddon go will be Theo’s big move, likely selling the stupid fans on the players listening to a new voice in David Ross as manager.
  7. Definitely. They just want their fall and winter break. Man, the Cubs fans tears sure are tasty.
  8. I agree with you. They are now 0-3 with Keenum starting and have Dwayne Haskins ok the bench. It won’t be long now.
  9. You were misrepresenting the truth by saying he only had one bad throw. Plus, those shorter throws under ten yards should be on the money for an NFL QB. That’s why a few people noticed them and mentioned them in this thread.
  10. That looked like a video game where Keenum just ran into the invisible wall on his dive.
  11. Mitch only made one bad throw? That is just not true. What game are you guys watching?
  12. He made a a few inaccurate short throws that were less than 10 yards in the beginning of the game.
  13. You won’t get an argument from me. It takes a putrid defense for his numbers to look good. Next Sunday will be the true test of his improvement tonight carrying over.
  14. If anything, he needs to get used to overthrowing those balls, not underthrowing them. But yeah, he telegraphed that throw for Norman by staring that way the entire time.
  15. My point is they suck. I’m not really concerned with how close their losses were.
  16. They will be lucky to finish the season with 6 wins. Case Keenum?
  17. I wanted to see the Redskins pinned back within the 5 or 10 and let the Bears D pin their ears back.
  18. Kicker with a bum leg and a 44 yard attempt. Probably should have just punted.
