I do not like Yolmer at all and the chance to save $5 million and replace him with a potentially better hitter is too much to pass up. Mendick already showing we can save $5 million on utility infielder to spend elsewhere. This is also why Yermin should have been called up. Maybe he would’ve looked amazing at DH and saved us even more money (~$10 million).

I guess I love that Masur is always ready and prepared to call the game. He doesn’t miss calls / plays. He is all business which allows Stone to add the analysis. Benetti will miss calls telling his stupid stories and jokes.

He is vanilla. He could add a bit of flair. I agree. But it’s better than overdoing the ridiculously corny jokes non freaking stop all game, every game. It isn’t funny, it is old and boring.

He is way better at college football games. This dude tonight puts him to shame AT BASEBALL. He calls the freaking game properly and he interacts perfectly with Stone without ridiculously cheesy pre-school jokes.

I think you are dead wrong here. Why would the Sox pay Yolmer $5 to $6 million to do something that Mendick can do for $500K? What’s the advantage to retaining him for one more year at that arbitration price when he won’t even be a starter for the majority of the season unless Madrigal gets injured?
