  1. I’ve worked for a very small company of under 50 employees, as well as a large Forbes top 100 company. Even the small company had a single HR contact that would report issues up to the two owners of the company.
  2. I’m in my late 30’s. And even if it’s race, religion, or sexual harassment related, you should be reporting it to one entity within a corporate setting if you decide to do so — Human Resources. Getting frustrated and opening your mouth directly to the source of the issue is a good way to lose your job.
  3. The discussion on jobs with Jack is far more interesting than this game was. ?
  4. Jack, how old are you man? No offense but you seem to be very naive to the ways of the world. The world can be a cold, cruel place but also an awesome place. But ultimately, no one is giving you shit for free.
  5. See my post above. If people aren’t happy with their workload or extra work hours, they can always look for a new/better job and this is what oftentimes happens.
  6. I’m in the 6 figures but I would love for this law to be put in place! I typically work over 40 hours a week and don’t feel I am getting cheated. I receive a bonus and extra PTO days but hell, I’ll take more money. Maybe I’ll have to put in a call to Peter Francis Geraci!

  8. Regular workers? You have no idea what we do, lol. Some people that post on here could be 5 figures, 6 figures, or perhaps even 7.
  9. I am posting it again just for you to see, Jack. Salary exemptions from required overtime pay exist, Jack. This is straight from the U.S. Department of Labor website. https://www.dol.gov/whd/overtime_pay.htm “The federal overtime provisions are contained in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Unless exempt, employees covered by the Act must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek at a rate not less than time and one-half their regular rates of pay.”
  10. I already proved that ridiculous statement wrong.
  11. Jack, you are talking out of your ass now. https://www.dol.gov/whd/overtime_pay.htm “The federal overtime provisions are contained in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Unless exempt, employees covered by the Act must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek at a rate not less than time and one-half their regular rates of pay.”
  12. Most companies obviously don’t pay overtime to salaried employees but take care of you in other ways, such as extra PTO days or performance-based benefits. That’s how I get a little extra for my extra work hours.
  13. A homeless person with nothing getting a job as a manager at a McDonald’s? Yes, that should make them happy.
  14. You beat me to it. And I believe the Department of Labor just recently proposed raising the salary level for overtime exemption.
  15. Happiness is all relative, just like the jobs people are qualified for. To someone who is poor with no education, being a manager at a McDonald’s might be a great job and they would be happy with that.
  16. This isn’t truly the way it works in practice, unless you work for an awful company. Unless there are layoffs occurring, most employees don’t usually get canned for no good reason.
  17. You have a right to work. But that doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to be a good job or that you don’t have to do the right things (e.g. work hard and don’t rip your employer) to maintain said employment. We don’t need communism here afterall.
  18. I work for a Forbes 100 company and the same would happen to me. Hell, if I had a Facebook or Twitter documenting my love of guns, I might be canned.
  19. Exactly. You have a right to shit on the company you work for via social media but they also can fire you whenever they want.
  20. You may not agree with it but it’s the way of the U.S. so quite frankly, it doesn’t matter what you agree with.
  21. Haha, you never know. Just think about how pissed we fans get watching Renteria call for bunts all the time. I’d be even more pissed watching the team I work for do it. ?
