  1. Oakland has a pretty good farm. Someone like Austin Beck, Jorge Mateo, or Sheldon Nuese might be attainable.
  2. The Cards are not giving up Carlson for Colome. Carlson is only 20 and is already holding his own and more in AA. Someone like Lane Thomas or a lotto ticket like Jhon Torres is a more realistic get from the Cards.
  3. Let's just hope the Sox can win one in Boston and one against the Twins.
  4. This is very likely to happen and wouldn't be the end of the world. The Sox need to continue to stock the farm and another top ten pick next year will help.
  5. The hope was that he would have a lights out first half and the Sox would be able to flip him. They are stuck with him now. He will just be dfa'd this time next year if he is still stinking up the joint.
  6. Yes sir. Cole or Bumgardner this year and James Paxton or Robbie Ray the year after that. The $$$ better be spent on pitching, pitching, and more pitching.
  7. I'm highly skeptical that Kopech will ready to go on opening day 2020. Zach Burdi is almost two years removed from Tommy John and the guy can barely pitch more than two innings a week. Kopech is the only guy who will be back from TJ in 2020. I don't think Dunning or Rodon will be able to go until 2021.
  8. Avi on pace for a 4 WAR season with an OPS above 800. What kind of contract does he get in the offseason if he keeps those numbers up?
  9. How can the Sox plan to have a healthy staff at the beginning of 2020? The only guys that you can pencil into the starting rotation for 2020 are Giolito, Lopez, and maybe Cease. Kopech might not be ready to go come Opening Day. The Sox are going to have to pony up some big $ for pitching this offseason. There is no way around it.
  10. Are you serious? Have you seen the White Sox starting pitching? The Sox are going to be having open tryouts for anyone with a live arm soon.
  11. They are probably bringing up Detwiler or signing another guy off the street.
  12. Absolutely no point for this guy on a tanking team like the Sox in late June. Keep giving the playing time to Tilson or bring up Palka.
  13. My bad. Achilles not his acl. Good points all around. The Sox pretty much used a top 15 pick on a guy who was destined to become a DH. The question is now does the kid even play this year?
  14. Rodon has no future with the White Sox. The Sox should just cut their losses and move on. He is going to be on the shelf all of 2020 most likely and will have to be treated with kid gloves in 2021. Just release him and use the $ to get a workhorse like Cole, Bumgardner, or Hamels.
  15. This dude is always hurt. The only thing he has proven is that he can't stay healthy.
  16. So what is the word on this guy? If he ever returns to professional baseball he should only play as a DH. Putting this guy out in the field with his duct taped acl is a recipe for disaster.
  17. The Sox need to go hard after Cole this offseason. However, they don't need to blow their entire wad this offseason either. Go get Cole this year and a guy like Robbie Ray or James Paxton the next offseason. The Sox are going to have to use that $250 million that was supposedly earmarked for Machado on pitching pitching and more pitching.
  18. What a great accomplishment. If this team is still sitting 3 games under 500 this time next year and running guys like Despaigne and Ivan Nova out there then Hahn deserves to be fired.
  19. Like LaRoche, Robertson, and Melky a few years back? The Sox have already played that game and lost big time. Go get Rendon and/or Cole. If Cole goes to the one of the big boys trade Madrigal and another piece for Zach Grienke.
  20. When can we sign Vlad Guerrero the Third? I would start negotiations now and give him 10 million when he turns 10 years old.
  21. Would something like Madrigal, Dunning, and a lotto ticket be enough for Conforto? Sox could sign a guy like Schoop or Gennet to play second.
  22. The dude was drafted as an almost ready college arm over 4 years ago. If he isn't ready for the big leagues by now then he most likely will never be ready.
  23. Scott Fletcher put up 32 WAR in his career. It did take him 15 seasons to do so though. I think Madrigal will be a little bit better than that when all is said and done.
  24. That's why he is a buy low candidate. Send them Dunning and Basabe or something like that.
