  1. Let's hope Kopech's recovery goes much better. We won't see him until 2021 if he is on the Burdi plan.
  2. Yep. Let's hope something isn't amiss. The draft was 10 days ago. I'm sure everyone took the rest of last week after the draft off. This week should be all business though. I'm excited to watch Vaughn smash. Let's get these kids signed!
  3. Wood makes sense as a secondary addition. Would be very underwhelming if he was the main get this offseason.
  4. What about the Bee Gees? Those white straight males appropriated disco music and brought into the mainstream. My dad brought one of their records to the event ( that he swiped from his sister). Should my dad be ashamed of his racist actions that day?
  5. It will be interesting to hear the front office's excuses if they punt this offseason again and don't spend significantly.
  6. Yes. Thank you. I wasn't implying that the Sox had a choice in picking a Lambert brother. The Sox did have a first rounder in 2015 though. Maybe they could have sent Fulmer to Colorado for the lil Lambert somewhere down the line?
  7. Nice response to the SJW revisionist historians out there. One of your quotes was even from an African American who was actually at Disco Demolition. Mr. Duncan didn't seem upset because people were smashing disco records or fearful to be at the event. He was upset that the Sox had to forfeit and lost. That sounds like a die-hard Sox fan to me.
  8. Thanks for the heads up on this. Just did a quick run through and a couple things stood out. 4 of the top 5 guys on the list are from the Dominician Republic. Also, Atlanta and Tampa have absolutely loaded farms. Each organization has double digit guys listed in the top 130. That is insane. San Diego isn't far behind either.
  9. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Such different times. An event like that could never happen today. Physical music products are dead and everyone would be staring at their phones instead of storming the field.
  10. Yep. We got the wrong Lambert brother unfortuntely. His little bro is only 22 and already doing well in the Show.
  11. I'll be there tonight as well. Will be sitting out in the new Goose Island section with a bunch of dudes. I wasn't alive for Disco Demolition but my old man was there. I've seen the youtube videos though and it looked like quite the party. Hopefully that one kid who climbed halfway up the foul pole turned his skills into a useful career as a stuntman or something.
  12. Gotcha. The Sox really need one of the prep pitchers taken early this year to turn into a legit guy. Pitching depth is rail thin in the minors. Also, Rutherford has an OPS=589, Sheets=676, and Gonzalez=625. These guys are heading towards non-prospect status with a bullet.
  13. Not really. Rutherford, Sheets, and Gonzalez have all been healthy. Good health hasn't translated to on the field performance for those guys though.
  14. Yep. The Sox shouldn't be trading any prospects at this point. They should still be trying to acquire prospects actually. FA only cost $ and most likely a second round draft pick. The Sox can afford Cole and Rendon. Get it done Hahn!
  15. Not going to happen. Have you seen the Sox schedule for the rest of June? They will be very luck to win 5 games the rest of the month.
  16. Are those 3 all expected to sign soon? One would figure that the Sox would want Vaughn and Beard to get some playing time this year.
  17. I guess this kid is just delaying the inevitable. Hopefully he got a useful degree at college or he could be on the Taco Bell track in a couple years anyways.
  18. Yep. The whole Jay situation is very strange. Dude has been an invisible man all year pretty much. The Sox just want everyone to forget he even exists. In my opinion, JR sabotaged the entire Machado negotiations on purpose. The Sox just sat on their lowball offer and waited and waited for another team to outbid them.
  19. I concur. If the Sox are set on dealing Colome, then they should probably try to get ahead of the market and trade him soon. Takes two to tango though. Next year is only year 4 of the rebuild. The Sox will let the young kids develop again next year. Finishing with a 500 record or slightly above is probably the front office's goal for 2020.
  20. The whole friends and family plan was so half baked and out of touch with the reality of professional baseball. The whole idea never should have left the napkin it was likely scribbled out on. I think Jay did something during the Machado negotiations that royally pissed the front office off. The Sox will just hide him in Charlotte until they can dump him or the season ends. The dude owes Manny a monthly steak dinner for the rest of his life.
  21. True. I guess he has a story for the Grandkids. You can get a bigger bonus signing on to be a manager at Taco Bell though. Could a team sign a guy for a penny?
  22. Lol at Connor Wollersheim. Is 1K the lowest that you can sign a guy for?
  23. You have probably put more thought into the Alonso situation than the front office has. Hahn and KW seem to be just making stuff up as they go along and flying by the seat of their pants.
  24. What happens if Dalquist bets on himself and doesn't sign? Seems like he can force the Sox to give him well over 2 million if he has top ten potential. Aren't pretty much all high school pitchers taken in the second round a roll of the dice?
  25. U sure the Sox didn't mean June 1 2020?
