  1. Wouldn't that be a pretty massive overpay for Logan Britt though?
  2. Why wait until August? Just quit avoiding the inevitable and do it now. Matt Skole has a 969 OPS in Charlotte. Bring him up.
  3. All high school pitchers are big flame out candidates.
  4. The Sox are in some good company in that article, Reds, Marlins, and Mets! Did Dahlquist sign yet? Doesn't he kind of have the Sox by the balls now? He can keep increasing his ask and the Sox will be forced to pay him.
  5. I just did. Very gross. It looks like Stephens is working his way back from a broken hand and Adams has a bad back or something. None of these guys have a future with the Sox it appears.
  6. It will be really interesting to see what the Sox do this offseason. I can't imagine they will punt another offseason but you never know with this Front Office and owner.
  7. Did Jordan Stephens, Spencer Adams, and Jordan Guerrero die? None of those guys are ready for a cup of coffee yet?
  8. Let's hope so. Would be pretty hilarious if the Sox DFA him and then activate Jon Jay from the IL to replace him.
  9. Yep. Boras is having a hard time accepting change it appears.
  10. Yep. Alonso and Jay should have been released the day after Machado signed with San Diego. 2019 is a developmental year. There is no place for useless veterans on the position player side.
  11. Keuchel should fire his agent. I have no idea why he held out for so long to only sign a one year deal for 13 million. Cost himself millions of dollars by doing that.
  12. Yep. It's time to DFA him and bring up Palka or Skole. Alonso has no trade value whatsoever. He needs to go yesterday.
  13. The Sox should just DFA Delmonico. He had his chance and has proven that he cannot stay healthy. Time to move on.
  14. Maybe he asks the Sox not to trade him? Abreu has been a loyal soldier and JR will reward him for that. I'm thinking he signs a 3 year extension soon. He will cover first base in 2020 and move to DH once Vaughn is ready.
  15. Yep. The Sox should be trying to compete next year. Whose your closer in 2020 if you trade Colome?
  16. Kelvin Herrera's 8.5 million will be the biggest contract on the Sox next year if they don't extend Abreu and flip Colome. The payroll will be under 30 million dollars without those guys and not picking up Jones and Castillo options. The Sox can easily afford to add Rendon and Cole and will still have a total payroll well under 100 million. This offseason should be much more exciting than last year.
  17. Yeah. There are rumblings that the Cubs may go hard after Cole. If Hamels and Q are off the roster they will be able free up some cash for him.
  18. The makings of a pretty good Sox team are right there. It will just require JR to open up the wallet.
  19. Zach Wheeler seems like a Yu Darvish situation waiting to happen.
  20. Derek Dietrich is interesting. My concern is that he is in the midst of a career year. Will the Sox get the 3 War player from this year or the 0.4 WAR guy from 2018? Also, he seems like the kind of guy who would come to the AL and forget how to hit.
  21. Cole is gonna get paid if he makes it through this year unscathed. Whispers that the Cubs will be going after him heavily with Hamels coming off the books. Yankees will probably be serious bidders as well. Sox didn't budget for Keuchel this year. JR isn't going to give the guy 10 million plus to pitch during a tank year.
  22. Basabe hit 15 homers in 119 at bats last year? Did you mean games?
  23. Gerrit Cole is the ideal FA target but I like the idea of Bumgardner. I would be a bit concerned about him being a guy who has never pitched in the AL before though. Is he going to demand Lester type money? I can't see JR ever paying 100 million plus for a pitcher that is over 30 years old.
  24. The Cubs are in a place where the Sox hope to be in a few years. The Cubs ponied up for Lester before their contention window opened up. The Sox had the opportunity to do the same with Corbin, Machado, or Harper but walked away once they saw the asking price. Where is all this pitching in the Sox minors? If we have so much of it, why are we seeing dudes like Nova, Banuelos, and Covey as mainstays in the rotation?
  25. The Cubs are putting their $ where their mouth is unlike the Sox so far. The Cubs also spent before their contention window was open unlike the Sox. This offseason is very pivotal if the Sox plan on competing anytime soon. Will the $$$ be spent?
