  1. Giolito, Lopez, and Dunning for Glasnow. Who says no, Tampa or the Sox?
  2. Can Machado or Harper pitch? Sox ain't winning anything with the gas cans that they are running out there on the mound.
  3. I think we pretty much already know the answer about whether or not Cordell, Engel, and Palka belong. They are just here this year for the tank. I also think the Sox will move some of the outfield prospect depth for a veteran pitcher. Maybe someone like Grienke?
  4. New GM? Rick Hahn was the official GM long before December 2016. This is revisionist history at its finest.
  5. I would like to see something like this for a 2020 Opening Day Lineup ( Also sucks that we are already talking about next year on April 10. Isn't tanking lovely?) CF: Leury Garcia (only holding the fort until Robert is hopefully ready in July/August) 3B - Moncada LF/ - Jimenez DH - JD Martinez RF - Puig C - Grandal SS - Anderson 1B - Collins 2B - Yolmer or Mendick (only holding the fort until Madrigal is hopefully ready in July/August)
  6. I don't know if the guy is stupid, but he does seem way in over his head. The Sox have drafted one high school player in the top 5 rounds since Hostetler took over. They are going best college player available at #3 without a doubt. A one-trick pony doesn't just magically turn into a show horse.
  7. Baltimore has no real timeline. They are going to be real real bad for the next decade or so.
  8. The Sox played it safe with Madrigal. Not a huge surprise with Hostetler in charge. I would take Nolan Gorman or Matthew Liberatore over Madrigal in a heartbeat.
  9. This is a very true statement. We are currently in the most difficult part of the rebuild. Hahn has to find a way to put quality players around Moncada, Anderson, Rodon, and Eloy. That isn't going to be easy if JR won't open up the wallet.
  10. Sox and Baltimore will be at the bottom of the barrel.
  11. If Colome continues to pitch well he will be flipped in a couple months. I'm not sure what the long term plan at catcher is. Throw Collins and Zavala out there next year and let them sink or swim?
  12. No we need signings like Cain, Chacin, and Jedd Lowrie
  13. This is exactly what they are going to do. Last offseason was perfect evidence that this is the plan going forward. I fully expect them to sign three FA agents this offseason in the same vein as the Melky Cabrera, Robertson, Laroche signings from a few years ago. They will also trade prospects for a veteran pitcher or catcher similar to the Frazier/Samardjzia trades.
  14. Time will tell. Let's hope that Hahn can hit on most of the tier 2 and 3 free agents that JR will let him sign over the next couple years.
  15. I agree but that is not how JR operates. The Sox are never going to hand out a 300 million dollar contract to anyone as long as JR is in charge.
  16. What these three teams did is not easy. Also, KC tanked for a decade plus in order to build a World Series winner. A third of the league is actively tanking. There isn't going to be seats for everyone when the game of musical chairs stops.
  17. Yep. Get him up to Winston Salem by Memorial Day!
  18. I'm not gonna sit here and say that Rick Hahn had a great offseason but he isn't the one who signs the checks.
  19. When did this message board turn so anti-Rick Hahn? I remember last year posters like Balta, Tom Longo, Fathom, and a few others were beating the fire Hahn drum pretty loud and getting lots of flack for it. Now everyone and their Grandma is saying to fire Hahn. What happened?
  20. Adam Engel is pitch hitting for Yolmer? Is this real life?
  21. Go hard after Gerrit Cole, JD Martinez, and Nick Castellenos. Trade prospects for a guy like Grienke.
  22. Very good chance of that happening. The Sox are currently on pace to win 48 games. They will obviously play better than that but 60 wins this year is very possible. Would 60 and 102 be enough to draft #1?
  23. The Sox are going to need to spend big bucks this offseason in order for this to be a winning team next year. 2020 is shaping up to be another tank year it appears.
  24. There is no perfect blueprint for completing a rebuild. The Sox have had a ton of injuries and under performance from key guys. This is a slow burn rebuild. Remember that Houston lost 100 games for 3 years straight. This will year 2 of the Sox 100 loss seasons. This year and next are gonna be very very ugly.
  25. Solid post. The only thing that matters this year and next is letting the young kids develop. Losing 100 games again this year is not a big deal. The Sox are only playing for draft position the next couple years.
