7/16|White Sox @ Royals|#CeaseDay|7:15 PM CT

Isn't tanking loads of fun???????????? -
Everyone needs to take a chill pill. This is only year 3 of a 6-7 year rebuild. The only thing the Sox are playing for in 2019 is another top 5 draft pick.

Sox have the same amount of hits as errors in this game. -

Good thing the 2020 draft class is looking loaded. The Sox could sure use another top 5 pick. -

Exactly. Renteria just signed a secret extension not too long ago. He ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Neither is Cooper and the hitting coach doesn't really matter. -

I think the Sox plan is to try to get to 500 next year and try to compete for a wild card in 2021. -

2020 is looking more and more like another tank year with each passing day. The Sox need to basically replace half of their 25 man roster in one offseason. That is a tall task for a GM. -
Not sure the Sox have the pieces to get a deal done for him. Why would Atlanta trade him anyways? Isn't he under team control for like 4/5 more years?
-
Promised? As White Sox fans we aren't promised anything. The only one who was promised anything in this rebuild was JR. He gutted the payroll and is soaking up the profits.
-
Good for Yogurt. He should be absolutely dominating. He is basically like if you took a College Senior and let him play against high school kids.
-
Agree on Grienke. The Sox would only have him for 2020 and 2021. 2020 is hopefully the last of the developmental/tank years. The Sox should be competitive in 2021 but Grienke will be 37 by then. Trade for somebody younger with more team control or just pony up for 5 years of Gerrit Cole.
-
I'm not saying to write him off yet but what i said about him playing in the bigs is accurate. There is a very real chance it never happens. Rutherford needs to get off the Spencer Adams trajectory pronto.
-
They won't. Colome is not going to net a top 100 guy. An interesting idea would be to package Colome/Collins for Joe Palumbo and Sam Huff of the the Rangers.
-
This. is. not. going. to. happen! Bummer would have been traded yesterday if the Sox had an offer of a top 30 guy for him.
-
I don't trust Rick Hahn in these kind of trades. Tommy Kahnle bounced back and is having a real nice year for the Yankees. Blake Rutherford has a sub 700 OPS in AA and will likely never play a game in the bigs.

The rumors were (partially) true: Collins to AAA
OneDog847 replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No one wants the overpaid Beef Wellington. The Sox are stuck with him. They may even pick up his option for next year since Collins doesn't look close to being ready. -
The Dodgers just lost Chris Taylor to a broken arm. Maybe we can send them Jay or Sanchez in exchange for a DSL Lotto tix?
-
Salary relief? The guy is owed like 2 million the rest of the way. This organization is in big trouble if they need salary relief for Jon Jay.

Tired of seeing Yolmer Sanchez in starting lineup
OneDog847 replied to SweatyFreddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cordell sucks. He looks like a pitcher in the batters box. -
Gio can become an ace if he can lower his BB/9. His current number is 3.31. If he could somehow get that number around 2.0 then we could start the conversation about him being an ace. His current xFIP is 28th in baseball which is very good but not "ace" material.

Good lord no. Tilson, Cordell, and Sanchez have no future with the White Sox. We will finally know the rebuild is going in the right direction when they are no longer on the team. -
What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
OneDog847 replied to harkness99's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox played way over their head in the first half. They actually have a worse run differential than KC and Miami. The second half is gonna be very ugly and the Sox will likeley finish the season 15 or so game under 500. It doesn't matter though cause 2019 is a tank year and the standings are not important. -

I thought this cat was supposed to have one of the most advanced bats in his draft class? I'm not sure that 6 weeks in Charlotte is gonna be the cure for what ails him. -
Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
