  1. Castillo should just be released. He is a cheater and a guy who has no future with the White Sox.
  2. Hopefully Collins puts up good numbers the rest of the way in AAA and can be flipped in the offseason or at the trade deadline. Colome/Collins/Fulmer to Texas for Joe Palumbo and Sam Huff would be an interesting trade.
  3. The Sox need to spend $ this offseason on pitching, pitching, and more pitching. McCann will be the starting catcher in 2020. The back up catcher for 2020 is tbd. Collins was drafted over 3 years ago as one of the most advanced college bats in the draft. If his bat ain't ready for the show now then it likely won't ever be. I don't like the idea of leaving Collins in AAA the rest of this year. The Sox are hopefully going to be competitive in 2020. Zach Collins learning on the job next year is not going to help the team win baseball games.
  4. Collins has looked like a fish out of water against MLB pitching so far. Getting him regular at bats in AAA the rest of the year isn't going to prepare him for playing in MLB in 2020. The Sox should just try to package Collins in a trade this offseason.
  5. Something like that. Hahn was quoted on a Chuck Garfien podcast back during Spring Training blaming a twitter leak on a dealing falling apart. Didn't specifically mention the Pederson trade though.
  6. This is freaking awesome! Trade Fulmer and Bryce Bush for Pederson!!!
  7. Remember when that young wannabe journalist kid tweeted that the Sox were gonna trade Carson Fulmer and some other bum for Joc Pederson?
  8. Yep. The more I think about it, the less likely it is that Abreu is traded. Abreu wasn't traded 3 years ago during the beginning of the firesale so I'm not sure why he would be traded now.
  9. Maybe the plan is to trade Abreu in the next few weeks and let Reed play out the rest of the year at First?
  10. i wonder what Houston would do with a front office person who traded away a Tatis Junior for James Shields.
  11. Screw that. The Sox should be spending some big $$$ this offseason on impact talent for 2020 and beyond. Guys like Reed, Palka, Castillo, Tilson, Jay, Cordell better not be taking up 40 man roster spots next year.
  12. Sox should trade this guy to a team from the NL Central for a lotto tix prospect.
  13. I would love to add a guy like Will Smith but I think there will be a pretty good bidding war for him next offseason. The Sox really need to prioritize most of their FA $ on starting pitching and right field.
  14. Not really. The Sox shouldn't be having open auditions for the closer position once the 2020 season starts. My prediction is that Colome stays put and the Sox roll with him as closer again next year. That allows them time for the young bullpen arms to continue to develop or recover from injury.
  15. Because Zach Burdi has shown that he cannot stay healthy and is as fragile as a China doll. He has also never pitched an inning in the Show and has unimpressive numbers in the minors. The Sox will end up trading back for Colome next year if they roll with Burdi as their closer in 2020.
  16. None of these guys can be relied on at all going forward. Projecting one of them to be your closer in 2020 sounds like a recipe for disaster. What legit closers are available in FA?
  17. Well I'm here to say not taking more prep talent in the top ten rounds over the last few years was the wrong decision. Adding four prep guys in 2018 (only 1 in top ten) who have done diddly squat so far does not equate to a prep heavy draft.
  18. Not likely my friend. My house is in Chicago and my property taxes just skyrocketed.
  19. Let's check back in three years in regards to Collins and Huff.
  20. I'm aware of that. That is a step in the right direction but under Nicky Hostetler the Sox have been very pro college guys. One year is a small sample size.
  21. Huff has been doing damage in the Sally and Carolina league. That is how he got on my radar. Let's check back in 3 years and compare Collins and Huff.
  22. Jesus man. I wasn't of big fan of Abrams but I got no qualms with taking high upside prep talent with your first round pick. Give me a dude like Kiriloff, Whitley, Kieboom, or Lux over a dude like Collins all day every day.
  23. No goal post moving. we just disagree on the value of Huff versus Collins. This board would be absolutely ecstatic if it was announced that Collins was dealt for Huff.
  24. Well one guy was a top ten pick and the other was drafted in the 7th round... It is pretty impressive that Huff is even playing in the futures Game. What have any Sox 7th round picks done recently?
