  1. Division winning? That roster would have a good chance of going all the way. ?
  2. Boston is paying over 12 million in over cap tax penalties. They need to do something and are not in position to hold anyone up. They may be a good trade partner especially with a new GM. New guys seem more willing to trade players they didn't bring into the organization. David Price might be part of such a deal.
  3. This just might be the year. Keep the faith.
  4. I don't know...this Castrovince seems pretty darn sharp to me.
  5. I'm most intrigued by Jirschele and everyone thinks Vizquel is heir apparent. So I guess Grudzilanek is least interesting of the 3 primary managers I was thinking about. However...a 15 year major leaguer probably understands the game pretty well. It seems everytime we send a player down to AAA they come back playing a little better.
  6. Keuchel would be OK as the rotation filler to eat innings. He is really a third tier starter.
  7. They would get the fifth year out of me if they could say yes fast.
  8. I like Getz. I actually like all the minor league managers as well.
  9. Madrigal will be with us in 10 years when the others have moved on. He will be the next to sign an extension IMO.
  10. Rendon is better than Machado but still think money should to be spent where the needs are. That would be starting pitching, RF and DH primarily.
  11. If FO intention would be to move Yoan to RF I would love the move. Moving him to second and trading Madrigal is a non starter for me.
  12. I like it myself but best if we fly under the radar this time around.
  13. I agree that Friedman and Beane are top notch. You are also correct about reference to "teams have excelled in identifying that talent." More than RH are involved in player selection.
  14. I agree...I almost included Theo in my remarks.
  15. I am aware...but I wouldn't want him. Every organization is a shambles when he wears out his welcome. Half the people on this board could sign nice players with unlimited financial resource and no care for the future. DD is a win now GM but not a long-term guy IMO.
  16. RH is a member of a very small club and talks most every day with other members of the club. I believe he knows how things are being done. None of us know what constraints he works under. As I've said in other posts...I believe JR, KW & RH work together like a 3 headed monster. Dave Dombrowski is an example of the lone wolf type of GM...but we see that doesn't always work out and when that type of GM leaves the organization is left with budget problems frequently.
  17. Lopez isn't going anywhere short of someone overpaying. He's better than some think.
  18. I think it's obvious that this is what happened.
  19. If we didn't have "three immensely-valuable contracts to trade" we would have had higher draft picks. Can't have it both ways.
  20. Sanchez is a useful guy. I would like to see RH work his magic with a three year extension between 12 & 15 million. That contract would make Sanchez a useful guy until Madrigal gets his feet wet. He would be a good trade chip at those numbers as well.
  21. Good list. Kuechel & Moustakas aren't on my list but worth considering.
  22. Just for the record...I know some 10 year old naughty boys who would think that was funny. Unless you are a 10 year old...grow up.
