As I understand it the umpire is still standing there with an earpiece telling him what to call and make other calls, etc.

Fox was what the prototypical #2 hitter was in the good old days. Be able to take lots of pitches giving the lead off hitter a chance to steal...bat control to hit behind the runner or hit and run...high average and hard to strike out. I like Madrigal for all those traits. Because Madrigal is such a SB threat he will probably used as leadoff but would fill the 2 hole in the lineup very well IMO. I know that thinking has changed with time but I still prefer the old concept because you were often leading after the first inning.

Need to extend Jose at a reasonable dollar amount (12-14 million per year) for 2 years preferably. If Jose won't go for that...trade him. Don't end up empty handed in the off season. I want nothing to do with a qualifying offer.

Not bad...get Robert & Madrigal up and I find it very watchable.

Madrigal is credited with being a really baseball smart player. We don't have many of those with the exception of McCann.

Anxious to see it in operation. The fans behind the dugouts are sure going to miss those souvenir balls the players often toss to them. On another note...my Cubs fan brother was very complementary of the Sox making such a fan friendly safety move.

I have my seat tickets from the last game at Comisky and the first game at the new park mounted on a poster photo of both parks when they were both still standing side by side.

I have always liked players like Adam. If they can just learn to carry about a .270 BA they can be an offensive force. The action they create with speed has unraveled many a good pitcher. Anyone who doesn't feel better when Engel is running down a flyball instead of our other options isn't paying attention. Hope he keeps it up...would be a very useful 4th outfielder on our championship teams.

Do you think McCann was about the money in last years FA class. For most guys it's just the process required in today baseball. Lots of guys sign quickly with first team that shows genuine interest. Boras clients take forever because they want every last nickel. This all about the money crap is not good for baseball.
