  1. The bullpen was where RH spent the off-season money. Didn't get much for his money IMO.
  2. Whenever a pitcher walks around the mound and slows the game to a standoff...he just plain looks afraid to throw the pitch. Lopez was a huge delay in the game type until someone got through to him. When Graveman started that stuff today...I knew we were toast.
  3. I had vertigo of the type you describe. Went to a vertigo specialist in Hinsdale. He could tell me by looking into my eyes when I was experiencing Vertigo by moving me around into sitting, laying, and shifting positions. He prescribed exercises and I was over it in approximately 10 days. It has something to do with the inner ear I believe.
  4. Don't expect Menechino or anyone else to get fired today. It's an off day for the club so RH needs some time off as well. Maybe next week or the week after that.
  5. Tony doesn't know where the gas pedal is located.
  6. I would do this before I trade away the farm in trying to save this appalling season. Of course...the new manager is a requirement.
  7. With their big bat out of the lineup...Cleveland looked very ordinary. To be fair...that is what our lineup looks like when missing two and sometimes three of our important bats. Still, that is not an excuse for resting players incessantly. Brooks Robinson and Lou Gehrig would have hated LaRussa's style of managing. I know I do.
  8. Nine days we are left to determine if we are buyers or sellers.
  9. What this team needs is not Q... New coaches.
  10. Tony has overstayed his welcome. Terrible way to end a HOF career.
  11. Yeah...Leury every day. Oh wait...we already do that.
  12. The 2 oldest players (Grandal /Abreu) on the team can play both ends of the doubleheader but TA needs a rest. Mystifying! Jirschele should be called up immediately.
  13. We might be good enough to win the Central but that would be maxing out from what I've seen. Maybe a few key deals will set us up for the next few post-TL years. Unless we turn it on NOW...I would recommend we become strategic sellers.
  14. The President of baseball operations should not be immune to criticism as well.
  15. I fully expect us to win the last two games in the series. That said, this game bothers me. Resting important offensive players like Eloy and Anderson when we are already missing an important player in Roberts. Keeping players well rested for the playoffs isn't going to be necessary if we don't start playing like each game matters.
  16. Giolito was pathetic. Doesn't look to be who is needed for playoff baseball.
  17. For what it's worth...I have an old Roku and just finished installing Apple TV. I'm old so it took me 15 minutes but I'm pretty sure your device will handle it. I don't like that they farm out the games but I discovered Peacock when they did the same thing...and I really like that station now. Just sign up for the regular plan at $4.99 per month and cancel after the 7-day trial period.
  18. He is a good fit for any team but the teams that need the RF power lefty bat are fewer. The Yankees for example don't need a left-handed hitting right fielder nor do they need someone to put people in the seats. For sure he is a nice addition for anyone but he pays for himself in Chicago.
  19. Crazy, right? This would be the largest total value contract in MLB history by more than $11M (Trout, $426.5M), with the highest average salary in MLB history by more than $11M (Scherzer, $43.3M). But let’s think about it this way. Shohei Ohtani projects to strike out 239 batters per 162 games. He also projects to hit 44 home runs and steal 24 bags over those 162 games. How much would a free agent who strikes out 239 batters a year be worth to a contending team, $30M? How much would a 44 HR/24 SB free agent position player be worth to a contending team, $30M? ….. Will teams be tempted to offer Shohei Ohtani an over-market-value smaller contract, especially with a short leash on his ability to pitch full-time, and the heightened risk of injury as he ages? (From Above) How much would a free agent who strikes out 239 batters a year be worth to a contending team, $30M? How much would a 44 HR/24 SB free agent position player be worth to a contending team, $30M? What if 3 years won’t cut it for Ohtani (it won’t). Will 5 years at a slightly higher than market value AAV get the job done? Ohtani is a ridiculously good fit and one of those few people who actually would put fannies in the seats.
  20. My understanding is that they wanted to shorten the time of the games. If the strength of your team is the depth of bullpen pieces you would desire extras I would think. Whatever the reason...I'm no fan.
  21. A few weeks back a poster was promoting the idea of Engel in CF and Robert in RF. That idea has appealed to me since their respective skill sets line up real well with those positions.
