  1. Well...isn't that special? When he hits them...they really go.
  2. Bummer pulled himself together. Walks are not a pitchers friend. Apparently Ricky made the right call leaving Bummer in.
  3. Three walks for three different pitchers. This is another Ricky is getting on my nerves game. Well we got out of it. Mercy!
  4. First walk of the night. Don't start that crap again.
  5. This lineup and pitching matchup didn't seem very appealing but we have seen many worse efforts.
  6. Surprised the hell out of me. He looked very good against a tough lineup.
  7. Detwiler and Palka getting a chance to change some minds with this game. So far...Detwiler taking good advantage...Palka not so much.
  8. Not to get ahead of myself...it would really be something to find a decent starter from are own system we hardly ever heard of. Like McCann it would be like finding something for nothing.
  9. I like that Detwiler throws strikes. Not walking the world is a great trait. His pace is very decent also
  10. Detwiler could do himself a lot of good with a strong performance. With our pitching situation he could get himself a good long look. A first round draft choice with 10 years in the pros. Must have something for clubs to keep giving him a chance. For his sake and ours I hope he's successful.
  11. Detwiler through 4 has shown himself well. He doesn't pitch like he's afraid to throw the ball. Might be up for awhile.
  12. Stone said Hahn said in todays press talk...not long now.
  13. Tied through three qualifies as a surprisingly good start to the game.
  14. You do have to squint hard to find what there is to like about this lineup.
  15. I agree. With all these injuries second chances for Palka and Engle might be some weird blessing in disguise. I only half believe this but nothing to lose at this point.
  16. We will have a "good" young roster next year IMO.
  17. I didn't say Madrigal would be a better player then Machado...I said he would still be playing winning baseball when Machado had hung em up.
  18. Well said. Stay off Madrigal's back.
  19. I was assuming a payroll of 150 Million. A 30M per year salary on our current team would be using more than 50%...a ridiculous situation to be in. Our current low committed payroll coupled with the ability to spend at least 150 million now makes us players for any players we desire to pursue. I hope that we pursue pitching and pitching and still more pitching. A right fielder would also be nice. Then go ahead and pursue even more pitching.
  20. It's very difficult to build a winning roster when you give 20% of your resources to one player.
  21. Jerry's 83 years old and shows no signs of selling before his death. I believe I read there are estate tax reasons which make it foolish to sell. My point is it's foolish to think Jerry isn't a die hard fan just like any of us. I believe he will spend the money as it's his last chance to build a lasting dynasty type team.
  22. By no means are opt outs given in all cases. Yes...some players ask for and get them because of circumstances unique to the situation. In my view...if a player doesn't want to commit to the team...we don't need him.
