Any team that adds a player like Eloy to their everyday lineup is going to improve substantially. I am very hopeful that he is just what the doctor ordered.

They might be a bit better today but RH is about to find some help in the near future. I know some don't believe it but the FO is looking at the same things we do.

I said as long as Sheets, Vaughn, Eloy, and Engel were on the team they had to play somewhere (that being RF, LF, and DH/1st base...all of these observations were made in the conversations concerning whether money is spent on RF or 2nd base. I felt the available money should be at 2nd base. Nothing has changed my mind. Sheets has actually been better in RF than I thought. Vaughn was quite adequate in RF as well before being curtailed. Plan A for DH was all of the above plus Eloy. My wording of "addition" was meant in the context of being recently recalled but I agree he and Zavala don't qualify as new guys.

However, on a happier note...Zavala, Sheets, Cueto, and McGuire have been pleasant additions to our banged-up troops.

I don't particularly appreciate it when this play is called the Twins "turned" a triple play. It was the WS who "turned" the triple play. Both Engel and Moncada should be ashamed of themselves as should "coach" Boston.

Joc looked like crap in the outfield over the weekend.

I am as disappointed with this year to date as anybody...but what's with the negativity. You are usually a little more patient. If the breaks go our way we can be in first place in a week or two.

A sweep of the Twins will put a very different look and feel to this season. I like a lot what Sheet was showing us in this series.

Players' wages have not gone down. Players' wages as a % of revenues have gone down...I agree. Tickets and concessions have and will go up until people refuse to pay those prices. I argue that when players' salaries go up as a % of revenue...prices "will" go up period. I would agree with what I think your point is...if salaries as a % of sales go down or remain the same...prices will not necessarily go down.

If Burger shines as you suggest...consider trading Moncada for a "big" package. Too many good players is never a problem.

The 20% skybox crowd doesn't much care what the price of beer is. There are lots of people, myself included, that can afford $13.50 for a beer but would never pay it because it's ripoff pricing as far as I'm concerned. If you charge $20 for a beer at the ballpark...they will only sell a fraction of the beer they sell today. If they lower the price to $5...they will sell a lot more beer. Where the magic perfect price point is to produce the most profit, I don't know. JR tries to have it both ways by having promotional nights but I fear the pricing out of being a fan for later generations.

Yeah...when the cost of doing business goes up you think the pricing of the products goes down. You must be one of those economists that work for the government.

My "grasp" of this subject is just fine. When costs go up prices go up. If costs stay the same or go down...we have no idea if prices will go up or down. The problem some of you have is that you suspect prices always go up because JR and most owners are greedy. What I can't grasp is how long the game can survive this out-of-control cost to the ball fan.
