I think fair minded people see we are getting close to turning the corner on the rebuild. With a couple of quality pitching additions I expect us to compete for the division next year.

Anxious to see if McCann can get Lopez working a faster pace. It would help I bet.

Remember that at this phase of the rebuild trades don't have to involved prospects. I would look for teams that have major league ready guys who are blocked by an established star.

I can't remember a pitcher improving the holding on runners thing like this. Like magic.

Ricky hasn't gotten the memo about dropping Alonso to seventh in the line up.

I hope we learn that McCann works with Lopez like he works with Gio. Let McCann call the game and Lopez can just hit the glove.

If my eyes are not deceiving me he has looked like a #1 type starter.

RH extensions have been great for the team. Only missed on Danks. It is one area that RH does well and I would think we could all agree on that.

That is the reason I push for people like Robert and Cease for sooner rather than later. It seems no matter what you do...there is a period of adjustment for most prospect. There is something to be said for playing against the best.

Kopech, Dunning and Rodon will come back stronger than ever. Glad it was this year and not later. You never have enough pitching. Keep stockpiling.

You obviously could find worse places to spend money.

McCann being the primary catcher while mentoring Collins would be great. If you carry a third catcher like Zavala either McCann or Collins could DH on a regular basis. I like that system much better than carrying a one dimensional DH.

As I said...water under the bridge. The owner isn't going to fire himself. We need to hope they have seen the light. I have my own problems with some of the moves we've made but they also have created a system with Anderson, Mocada, Jimenez, Giolito, Robert, Madrigal, Cease, Lopez, McCann, Tilson, Rodon, Marshall, Bummer and Colome. That ain't all bad.

From what the pros seem to say it's going to be one of these two. Hostetier has a great job since all of baseball does the research for him.

I think I am pining for Collins not really thinking Zavala is the answer. However, I do think a 3 catcher system may work well with the unique hitting skills of McCann/Collins.

It seems a perfectly logical baseball decision to spend what money is available on several very good players rather than 1 excellent player. Whatever RH and the FO feel is maximizing the available resources. What they decide to get with those resources is the question. Harping on the Alonso/Jay stuff is water under the bridge. I personally hope available money goes to pitching, pitching and more pitching. Never have enough. The every day lineup is looking better all the time. When the Alonso situation is resolved and Robert arrives it will take care of itself.

I don't care if it's Zavala or Zivala as long as it's not Castillo.

Yesterday Robert went 4 for 5 with 3 rbi and a walk off double. Not long now!

Count me in. He's is a very competent piece of the puzzle. Not dominating but takes the ball every 5 days. More than half his starts are quality.
