  1. LAD is the team Reinsdorf has to overcome to win the World Series. What kind of mambo will he do this year ??
  2. The best thing that can happen to the CWS is to somehow get passed the highly loaded LAD and win the 2021 WS. Reinsdorf and TLR can then ride into sunset on top. I was really hoping Reinsdorf would do that after the 2005 parade. Unfortunately, no such luck.
  3. Hahn doesn't have another GM job lined-up. May not even get another. Pace either. Trading FTJR and Drafting Trubisky respectively. I kinda of feel sorry for Hahn - mind you I said kinda. Pace not so much. The funny thing is if FTJR was still with the Sox, Reinsdorf would probably still have him under contract control in the minors...LOL Can anyone on this site fathom Reinsdorf giving anyone on planet earth 324 million - and a 22 year old at that ? Better hope the next ownership are high rolling, well-heeled sportsmen. Once Biden gets this pandemic under control it'll been a world new world in sports - and everything else.
  4. It's Reinsdorf's responsibility to field a team worthy of support You needn"t look any further than 1901 W. Madison to see the contempt Native New Yorker Reinsdorf has for the Chicago fanbase. Stellar attendance despite 21 years since their last Finals appearance. What's his excuse ?. That 50 cents BS doesn't play too well on West Madison. Why is his basketball team consistently in top third in attendance and in the bottom third in payroll ? P.T.Barnum 2.0.
  5. LAD is the team to beat. The goal is a WS championship.
  6. We can only hope the next CWS ownership have LAD deep pockets. Oh what a refreshing change it would be. And such an ownership would get rewarded handsomely by the base for their committnent to excellence. Reinsdorf believes it's the fans responsibility to make the product better. You only need to look on the west side to see what blind loyalty brings a fanbase - a 22 year championship drought despite being among the top NBA teams in attendance. And don't look now folks but we're going on 16 years since the 2005 one-year revival of Damn Yankees. Reinsdorf is a paper billionaire because of the Bulls, not the Sox. When Balmer grossly overpaid for the Clippers the net worth of the NBA owners took a nice spike upwards. But even Reinsdorf has to take a back seat to the McCaskeys. They are the titanuim standard for getting rich off blind loyalty.
  7. But it's LAD that is standing in Hahn's way of achieving multiple championships. Until the Sox are owned by affluent sportsmen that càn compete with LAD, the Sox may contend but not win. Do you really think LAD fans àre tossing and turning in their sleep worrying about the 100 plus million the team owners may end up paying Bauer? They have expectations. The Reinsdorf Experience in any other major market wouldn't have lasted 3 years let alone 40. And in those 40 years they've made the post seasons 6 friggin times and it took a group of journeymen ballplayers having collective career years for them to get pass the first round in the only time they did.
  8. He's a paper billionaire. He'd have to sell off the Sox and the Bulls to come anyway near realizing that kind of money. I want the next owners to be Cohen / Balmer wealthy. The Sox could take over this town with the right ownership and a new venue smartly located in the downtown area to grab that tourist dollar that seems to find its way to Clark and Addison. Reinsdorf is many things - a visionary he is not. It's mind-boggling he didn't take Mayor Washington up on his offer to anchor the up and coming South Loop. .
  9. P.T. Barnum 2.0 wishes he could achieve 2nd place finishes. He's failed miserably at even that over his way-too-long tenure. But to his non-sportsmen investor$ he's a first-ballot HOF owner.
  10. So folks that can actually afford to own and operate a major market ballclub swooped in an signed Bauer. So much for that. Too bad, what a forminable pitcher that would been for the CWS. CWS has got to spend some money. Filling a need by trading the few assets they have just create holes elsewhere. That's why organizations like LAD are consistently in the hunt. They nuture their budding stars and spend money on vetted difference makers. That has never been nor ever will be the Reinsdorf Doctrine.
  11. Dunning had great stuff. He's better than Cease. Extremely disappointment (but certainly not surprised) Reinsdorf opted to trading for instead of signing a FA pitching upgrade.
  12. Doubt seriously he would traded FTJR. He would be a worthy Hahn replacement in Reinsdorf's world.
  13. The offseason isn't complete without a Reinsdorf Ellis Burke lightening in a bottle type signing. To paraphrase Ashford and Simpson... Katz will fix him.....LOL
  14. Do the apologists still need convincing P.T.Barnum 2.0 is stringing the base along ?
  15. There are only 30 MLB ownerships. No one is forcing any of them to hold onto their teams. Whatever the Reinsdorf group eventually gets for the Sox will far outweigh what they paid for them.
  16. If that is true, what"s the point of bringimg in TLR ?
  17. I love the Chicago White Sox passionately. I loath their current occupant in the owner"s suite. The latter doesn't affect the former.
  18. An affluent group of sportsmen wouldn't give a rat's ass about the Cubs. Reinsdorf's been crying po' owner for 40 years. This is not a corner bakery. This is a professional baseball team operating in no worse than the third biggest market in the country. .
  19. Make money and trying to control the game. He gave up trying to do that with the NBA. He"s a joke who's stuck in the 1950's.
  20. Pres Obama will put a group together. No way in hell he would allow his beloved Sox to be relocated. Chicago is a great sports town. And with the firestorm going on at Clark and Addison, the competition for the baseball dollar is back in focus. The Sox need a new venue. Get off 35th st and move to the South Loop and become a viable tourist attraction.
  21. How is 6 post season appearances (with only one making it past the first round) in 40 years considered a good run ? Reinsdorf has truly lowered the bar of expectations in this city. I doubt his act would have lasted very long in NY, LA or Boston.
