Truly CWS has not been blessed with stellar ownership throughout its existence. Hope and ? a major cultural change will come in my lifetime.

With this latest surrender, Reinsdorf has done the impossible and now owns the most irrelevant major-market team in all of pro sports. Well Done, Jerry.

Then let him run the Kane County Cougars. That's his peak. -

The only thing that matters to Dorf is how much in payroll did he save. Doesn't give a damn about ever winning a championship. Why does he care about the quality of prospect he got in return ? -
Reinsdorf always looking for ways to troll the base so no telling who would be next. He hired an unwanted neophyte from KC - the city that was the inspiration for that obsolete on delivery ballpark. Could have been in the South Loop raking up the cash in a modern day version of Wrigley Field - devoid of bad plumbing and undesirable vermin - human or otherwise.
-
But Reinsdorf's keeping those investors happy - which Is all that matters.

GOOGLE. They are slowly establishing a foothold here. Why not ? They could buy CWS, build a high-tech sports / entertainment complex and hire elite Decision Makers and On-field difference-makers - all out of petty cash.

Horrendous Situational Hitting.

I've been on the fence with Tim. Not anymore. Get what you can for him. -
He should be VP - Player Personnel

From Ellis Burks to Client Frazier, the one thing that has been consistent about the never-ending Reinsdorf Tenure is his penchant for finding lightening in a bottle instead of employing outright bonafide difference makers. He'll never stop because Ellis Burks was a very good player and he actually won a World Series when he did the Mambo and hit the lightening in a bottle jackpot with journeymen ballplayers having collective career years. Why haven't the Sox come remotely close to that since then ? Because winning championship are coincidental - not the goal. The Almighty $ is. The Bulls are consistently in the top two or three in attendance playing in the NBA's Sistine Chapel yet haven't sniffed a Finals Apperance in 25 years.

The loathsome owner is THE cancer. It is his responsibility to create a culture of winning by hiring the best available decision-makers who are allowed to bring in bonafide difference-makers. If TA is the biggest problem the Sox have, they don't have any problems. -
Reinsdorf and his senior management know so much more than anyone else. Ask them.

This team is going to lose 90 plus games...

A competent owner is required to hire a competent President and GM. -
You've described the Reinsdorf Tenure to the letter: A perpetual rebuild. They had the op of a lifetime to break the cycle by signing both Harper and Machado. Subsequently, CWS could have become a preferred destination by elite difference makers. Reinsdorf Refused.
-
Not under Reinsdorf they wouldn't be.
-
2005 was a one year revival of Damn Yankees with Reinsdorf doing the Mambo to get career years out of mostly journeymen ball players. And 18 years later we are still feeling the pain. Take away the inherited MJ and the Mambo, Reinsdorf would have been out of sports decades ago.
-
Which is more likely. Not impressed with Reinsdorf's latest trolling of the base. To the change the culture, you hire personnel from winning organizations. Not KC.

Reinsdorf just refuses to hire competent managers. -

Could be the last Mgr of the Reinsdorf regime -
Oh there's no doubt about that. José is just another in a long line of Reinsdorf-mistreated stars.

Bravo. The only game I plan to attend this coming season is Jose Abreu's homecoming and I expect it to be high drama and raucous. Reinsdorf will likely be miles away from 35th st for that series. Jose Abreu deserves a World Series ring. He should have gotten it here in Chicago. I hope the eventual new ownership will reach out to Jose. He would be an amazing ambassador. He is a class act !!
