The best Sox games are the ones where Rentetia is a complete non-factor. Not seen. Not heard
-
Exactly - especially in a 60 game season. But an outstanding effort by Dunning.
-
Last guy on the Sox with that kind of 12-6 curveball was Bobby Jenks !!

Madrigal is a future all-s

Mr. Burdi is your closer, folks.

ESPN couldn't have justified ignoring the feat at all. That would have been gross negligence. It should have featured in primetime in the top 10 countdown. There was no event in MLB yesterday (8-16) that came remotely close to what the Sox achieved. It was just friggin' petty. Ironically, ESPN considered the Blackhawks win as #1.
-
So an event that has occurred only 10 times in MLB history didn"t crack ESPN's top 10 sports plays of the day ? They are full of shoot. Clearly a backlash from being called out live by TA7

To have an affluent, dynamic sportsman in the owner's suite. Oh, the possibilities !!! -

That's all he was on Clark and Addison too. St. Theo knew there was going to come a time. Ironically, managers don't last long there either. -

Yes he is. He's feels too beholden to ownership / management. -
Didn't know much about Dallas but I liked what I'm seeing. Part of the problem or part of the solution? He definitely leans toward the solution.

What was that Justin Timberlake said ? 'Sometimes the best way to say something is to say nothing at all".

I hate Renteria's line-ups. What is he thinking?

Nothing tops the brutal 1967 DH loss to the last place KC Royals with 5 games left. Had the Sox won 3 of those 5 games, they're in the World Series. The KC manager was Sox HOFamer Luke Appling who started 2 rookie pitchers against them. One of them Jim Catfish Hunter. -
Finley was ready to move the Oakland A's to Chicago had Reinsdorf and Einhorn really been that stupid and moved. They wouldn't have lasted 3 years in Florida. And for all of that arm twisting we've got 5 trips to post seasons in nearly 40 years and a championship that required career years from virtually the entire team.

The economic realities may force owners like Reinsdorf out of sports. Ironically, he's only an major sports owner in the first place because he was able to purchase the grossly mis-managed Sox and Bulls for pennies on the dollar. He never could really compete with these high affluent owners. Imagine what the McCaskeys could get for the Bears in a non-depressed economy ? The billionaires and trillionaires would be standing in line with blank checks for an opportunity to own the NFL's founding franchise. Reinsdorf could get a nice piece of change for the Bulls. The up and coming Sox would draw interest by owners who could fill in the gaps with vetted difference makers. With the right ownership and marketing strategy. the White Sox could be a global brand with their array of international stars. -

The Sox starters are some of the most ill-prepared to begin a game I've ever seen. And that's a reflection on their useless pitching coach. -

His next step is taking EE's place. Kenny-Hahn traded Q for a pitcher with far more upside than Q and a DH. Eloy is not Robert. Eloy is not even a servicable outfielder and they continue to risk serious injury trying to make him into something he's not. -

Kenny-Hahn may have the dubious distinction of orchestrating the best and the worst trades in Sox history. That Tatis Jr trade was brutal on several levels. Hahn won't be GM anyplace except where Reinsdorf is the owner. Ironically, Tatis Jr would probably still be in the minors with the control master. All that talent and just 21. Maybe the next owner can rectify that generational blunder when he hits FA. -
