Who's the next White Sox owner is far more intriguing.

Ozzie isn't very good on the Pre/Post-Game

Despised Rongey - a real JR brown-noser -
Reinsdorf hires some of the most incompetent and worthless managers and coaches in either MLB or the NBA. What real purpose do they serve? Some are clubhouse spies but how many of those does Reinsdorf need? Eloy needs to relieved of his defensive duties before he has a career-ending injury.

Speculation: Quintana back to White Sox???, rotation ideas...
GradMc replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yes, this is absolutely the case. More evidence Cooper is just out of touch with a lot of these players. Why wouldn't have Q and he sat down and discussed this glaring problem in his skillset and some possible behavioral modifications ? I guess that's why there are so few high quality pitching coaches in the ML. Q didn't exactly flourish under St. Theo either. He could be a consistent 15-20 game winner with such a pitch. -
Another game Renteria has pissed away. Reinsdorf has rationalized managers are a dime a dozen to save some money. This is all we're getting.

Cooper does a terrible job in getting his starters mentally prepared. -
How Many Players Will Be Called Up Before We're Finished?

I believe we are less than 2 weeks away from MLB coming to its senses and shutting this down. -
So it's all on Vanessa? Couldn't possibly have anything to do with him. The Red Sox knew something about this guy. You just give away that kind of talent.

The insanity needs to end today with all these sports. Covid-19 doesn't give a damn about atheletic prowess.

Evidently so were the Nats. And Giolito is not an ace - not even close.

Minnesota doing a great job at pinpointing Sox's deficiencies. I have a feeling Cleveland will pick up the mantle. Take copious notes Kenny-Hahn. -

I hate to say it but with each passing game, I understand why St. Theo replaced Renteria by proclamation. He may be a nice guy and all but he is not a championship caliber strategist. And until that owner allows vetted field managers to select their own coaching staffs, this is the best we're getting. -

Interesting Ozzie quote on Cooper...revisits Castro quote
GradMc replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Please. If anyone quit on this team, it was ownership with their decade long droughts between playoff apperances. Since folks far more unforgiving and less deserving than Ozzie getting "mulligans" these days, I would certainly extend one to Ozzie. And let the next manager whoever he is bring in their own pitching coach. -
This game was a lot more emotional for me than I thought. It reaffirmed how much I truly love this sport. And Ozzie was spot-on. The White Sox brand can extend globally if they are marketed right. I like his opening day line-up too. Bedside manners aside, I would have loved to have seen what Ozzie at this juncture in his life could have done with this team. His comments about Cooper were biting and oh so true.

Cheap Cheap Cheap Cheap Cheap. What else ? A dynamic well-heeled ownership group is going to be needed to keep this team in tact in a few years. It will be terrible for the base to have sat through the honing-skills phase only to watch the finished products flourish elsewhere. I still envision a south loop ballpark. Absolutely sinful the visionless Reinsdorf didn't take Mayor Washington up on his offer to anchor this up and coming area. And all that tourist revenue too boot.

I have a feeling this may be the reason.

Nice performance by Rey Rey. I still believe he's the most talented pitcher the Sox have in terms of the number of pitches at his command. He and a few other pitchers in this organization could benefit from a change in coaching perspective. Not sold on Renteria / Cooper leading this squad to a championship.
