  1. My bad. But it fits Reinsdorf to a tee, dude. You Reinsdorf apologists are breath-taking. LMAO !!
  2. He did the same thing when he infuriated Bulls fans by saying he'd trade all his Bulls Championships for one World Series Championship. First he denied it then he admitted it was a stupid thing to say. But whatever type of mambo he did in 2005 with that one year revival of Damn Yankees, it must have included all past and future Bulls Championships because that team is light years from returning to the Finals
  3. Agree. There will no denying his intentions by the time Spring Training rolls around.
  4. I don't think he even wants to win. His record speaks of itself. And as far going into debt....there are 30 sets of MLB ownerships in the known universe. If he's not affluent enough to contend then he should get out of sports. But he won't because he's learned to make money without significant financial overlays. Contending is strictly coincidental to achieving his level of profit margin. The White Sox were the 6th most profitable team in MLB last year. I'm sure he's done very well for himself and that cabal again in 2019. And what he's achieving with the Bulls has got to be breathtaking. Consistently in the top 3 in attendance playing in the Sistine Chapel of the NBA while consistently in the bottom 3 in payroll. No wonder he told the family to sell his so-called beloved White Sox but by all means keep the Bulls. The guy is a native New Yorker. He doesn't give a damn about Chicago outside of his charitable (tax writeoffs) contributions. P.T. Barnum 2.0 fits him perfectly.
  5. For me is simply I am a fan of the Chicago American League Ballclub Inc. who over the course of many decades have provided me a lifetime of memories. I was a fan before Reinsdorf and will be one when his tenure as placeholder comes to a merciful end. The apologists can't deny the record. 5 playoff appearances in 37 years. And they were rarely in contention for many of the remaining 32 of 37 years. Frankly, I'm more shocked at the denial than I am with what he purportedly said. It's right up there with the "Organizations Win Championships" remark trying to undercut the contributions made by iconic difference-makers.
  6. The bottom line is Reinsdorf is not interested in pursing championships. And that should be clearly apparent to even his staunchest apologists. Finishing second is beside the point. The league played opossum in 2005 and gave him his one-hit, under-budget wonder. He hasn"t come remotely close since.
  7. If he's intentionally trying to build 2nd place teams, he's not even doing a very good job at that. This team hasn't been to the post season in 11 years
  8. That's not being gullible, that's being skeptical. Nothing wrong with that
  9. His entire ownership has been a series of perpetual 3 to 5 year rebuilds. It"s just a friggin con.
  10. It came coincidentally with meeting his profit margins. Of course he was emotional...LOL
  11. You're right. He's not even aiming to finish as high as second. He's learned how to make boatloads of cash without being perineal contenders.
  12. No Jerry it isn't. You have FINALLY been disrobed. And you treat Bulls fans even worse.
  13. What A 5 star fraud. What need do we have of further witness ? He doesn't remember. Yeah right. Like one of my best friends used to say... "A lie don't live forever".
  14. Cooper is Reinsdorf's eyes and ears in the clubhouse. He survives all managerial changes which is yet another reason anyone looking for an significant upgrade at the managerial position can as the native New Yorker chairman would say: fuggetaboutit. Cooper's reputation as an effective pitching coach has reached mythical levels.
  15. Absolutely. Reinsdorf could draw 3 million a season but remember his rent goes up with attendance. He got his cost-contained WS championship in 2005. I was really hoping he'd sell high then. We need a cultural change. We should be like the St. Louis Cardinals - perennial contenders. Unfortunately the White Sox have not been blessed historically with stellar ownership. The Yankees legacy could have easily been the White Sox but Charles Comiskey was too damn cheap. Legend has it, he actually had first dibs on Babe Freakin Ruth but wouldn't pay him the 15k he wanted. The Sox won the WS in 1917. Should have won it in 1919. They were poised to go an historic run but money got in the way. The more things change......
  16. This is why I said shooting to be like the Cubs is not the goal. We want to model the Astros.
  17. The stronger the drum-beat regarding any type of cultural level type changes, the more the native New Yorker owner doubles-down. Renteria ain't going no-where.
  18. A Reinsdorf-Maddon pairing wouldn't work on many levels: (1) Reinsdorf minimizes the effect of managerial impacts on on-field outcomes which means he ain't paying for a top tier field-general. (2) Maddon would not have total control over his staff. There would be an insistence on retaining club-house stool pidgeon Cooper. (3) Reinsdorf is lost in the 1950"s with his out of touch rules regarding self-expression. There would be seriously clashes of culture. (4) Reinsdorf is not an affluent sportsman. It takes money to be competitive. Reinsdorf is a master of making money while being historically mired in mediocrity.
  19. The White Sox are going to need table setters at the top of that batting order. I'm looking for Madrigal to be one of those guys. I want Robert to be protection for Eloy. Then they'll both have great seasons. Batting Luis first or second is a vulgar use of his abilities. He is going to be an RBI producing machine. But of course, that'll be so Renteria-like. Now if the Sox go out and get JDM as their DH that'll be chilling.
  20. All of what you say is true. But it's still amazing to me given most of them were pretty mediocre in Sox uniforms. And I guess that should be expected given they haven't participated in post-season play since 2008 This latest "rebuild" is 11 years old whether anyone in that organization wants to admit it or not. Reinsdorf's Cash Cow Bulls have been rebuilding since Jordan left 20 friggin years ago.
  21. Amazing how much this organization gets beat by its ex-players.
  22. Agree. Our RF plays for the Phillies.⁰
