My original comment was I don't think they are as good as the Astros, Cubs and the Dodgers. And all teams go through slumps. And the Twins will be no exception. If Cleveland doesn't catch them, they'll win the division if nothing else. They look a like a team of non superstars having a collective career year. The Sox will have potentially several superstar caliber players when hopefully this rebuild comes to fruition.
-
But this is exactly why we only gave up Eaton to get these guys. Lopez and Gio have a lot of promise but they couldn't be relied on for a team in win-now mode like the Nats. I think Lopez would be an awful closer. The Sox need a pitching coach these young guys can relate to. Time for Cooper and RR for that matter to move on.
-
LOL If you gonna to use any team in this lousy division as evidence of how good the Twins are, that ain't saying much.

We'll see..

The pixy dust will wear off on the Twins eventually. No way is this team as good as the Astros, Cubs or the Dodgers. Maybe the Sox can start the Twins move back down to Earth..
-
Gutteridge, Bevington and Ventura have RR beat - but not by much. Reinsdorf inherited his best manager in baseball and his best player in basketball.
-
And why does RR bat him clean-up ? There are some guys that hit for average. There are some guys that are power and RBI orientated but low avg hitters. Those guys can hit clean-up. Wellington falls in neither of the above categories. Watch Eloy will come up next inning and hit a homer....LOL This is going to be a highly entertaining series.

That set-up the whole inning to the Astros advantage. I don't pay much attention to the Cubs but if this was Rentrtia shtick with them I see why St. Theo negotiated him out of a job.
-
Hard not to be impressed. The Sox may have several all star reps
-
I gave a slight edge to the Q trade because Kopech's current status. The Sox got what they going to get for whom they gave up: (1) A talented but untested pitcher. (2) A solid but oft-injured outfielder (3) A hard luck .500 pitcher

Managers have all kinds of reasons why they bat a certain guy clean-up. I have no clue what RR's is. His line-up positioning in general defies explanation. -

And the despite the bizarre musings of a couple of posters... Vlad Jr >>>>>>Yolmer Sanchez...LOL Imagine him at 3b for the Sox with Anderson and Moncada at SS and 2B. YIKES..A trio of perineal future all-stars -

Sox getting too close to .500 again. Oh we can't have that. Reinsdorf's rent goes up if the attendance reaches certain thresholds. -
You can be sure he won't get another opportunity to screw up another mlb organization. He might go work in the league office if he wants to stay in sports.
-
He certainly wouldn't have been brought up at 20. Oh, the idea he might be that good, that early and Reinsdorf would have to pay him? Perish the thought.

Great Post.

Yes, I read that today too. It was comical wasn't it ? Man, Hahn makes BS sound sooooo good !!

Best wishes to Carlos. He'll be a great midseason addition next year.

The Rick Hahn Haters thread, sponsored by Balta1701 and Jack Parkman
GradMc replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
During the 5-12 game thread I was admiring the strength of Vlad Jr. Given the lack of success by this regime to draft and successfully cultivate position players, I made a comment Kenny-Hahn could look to Vlad Jr as an example of #1 draft pick. Lord, why did I say that ? I was taken to task by several posters as it was perceived as a dig against Eloy and Yoan. It was nothing of the kind. One responder was rather crude when I mentioned I didn't appreciate being cursed. But these are folks with no life and only feel self-worth hiding behind a keyboard which speaks far more about their character. I shake my head and move on. Eloy and Yoan were drafted by other organizations. Kenny-Hahn traded for other organization's talent. My point was simply how great it would be if the Sox actually got better at drafting talent of that caliber. I could have just as easily mentioned Eloy and Yoan along with Vlad Jr. They all have the potential to be great players. And yes, I definitely believe Vlad Jr will be a superior player to Yomer Sanchez despite the pushback. I must have insulted some family member. Unreal. -

Gee, if Reinsdorf gave us a contending team, you wouldn't have the time to resort to this. And this is same site that routinely rips the FO to shreds . LOL -

Yes they did. And promptly traded him for a broken down pitcher. -

No, you just don't read very well. There were no digs against Eloy and Yoan. I love them madly. But the truth hurts. We traded for them. They were not discovered by Kenny-Hahn. And spare me the cursing. -

You know nothing about me. Please keep your ridiculous speculation to yourself. Eloy and Moncada have great upside potential. But they were discovered by other orgs not this one. I want this org to get better at their own talent evaluation instead of relying on the scouting skills of outsiders. And the way Sanchez is crucified on this site, it's hilarious to watch other suddenly come to his rescue. -

Looks like you missed the boat too. Eloy was signed/drafted by St. Theo. Moncada was signed/drafted by Dombrowski. Kenny-Hahn TRADED for other orgs #1 prospects because they are not very good at finding such prospects themselves.
