  1. Eloy was not drafted by Kenny-Hahn. He was drafted by St. Theo. And I'll take my changes that when the smoke clears, Vladdy Jr. will be a far superior player than Sanchez.
  2. Take note Kenny-Hahn, that's what a legitimate #1 prospect looks like.
  3. I'm sick of trades. We have very few quality players as it is. This ownership reminds me of the Three Stooges drilling holes in a sinking boat to let the incoming water out. Spend some friggin money on free agent difference-makers Keep Jose !!
  4. Renteria is a Tank Manager. Like like a lot of these pitchers are innings-eaters. In that respect, they do their jobs well. This is what ownership wants.
  5. The Chicago Bulls and White Sox provide a lot of case study examination in those graduate management programs.
  6. The Cubs and especially the Astros have committed, well-heeled ownership that employs superior, analytical decision-makers and talent-evaluators who bring skilled on-field difference makers into their respective organizations via the draft and various forms of domestic and international free-agency. We don't.
  7. This Reinsdorf loyalty thing is a myth. The guy has a massive ego and a know-it-all attitude. Getting rid of management folks - especially when you get to the Kenny-Hahn / Gar-Pax level causes the closest scrutiny into his own business acumen. While he laments letting La Russa get away, we have NEVER heard him admit the even bigger mistake was naming Harrelson the GM in the first friggin' place. And we never will because again that's a direction reflection on him.
  8. Agree. That's on Reinsdorf - but if the point is tank for increased owner wealth - Kenny-Hahn are the best money can buy. LOL. That's probably why Reinsdorf vetoed Kenny's Toronto move.
  9. Mergers and Acquisitions at GE ?? LOL...That wouldn't be a good fit either. Perhaps in Public Relations. He's definitely a Spin-Master
  10. Oh there'll big a payoff.....right into the ownership pockets. This has been a 38 year ownership comprised of continuous 3 year rebuilds.
  11. To paraphrase the old Doobie Bros song....they're made that way !!
  12. Sox had gotten to within one win of being at .500. That was anti-tanking (code: could adversely impact the non-competitive profit margins). Reinsdorf's cabal parlayed a < 40mil outlay for the purchase of 2 major market sports franchise into 4.6 billion worth of assets. As far as sports acquisitions are concerned, that was one time ever event. No wonder they bow to the Chairman regardless of his own financial contributions.
  13. Like I said, they"re the best we got.
  14. They're the best we got. This team is light years from contending with this ownership group and front office. I would bestow Pat Riley powers on whoever runs the Astros and get out of his way. But Reinsdorf's ego is too big and his wallet is too small to allow an outsider to come in and change the culture.
  15. You give them too much credit. The Chairman is stuck in the 50's.
  16. With the exception of Anderson and Moncada the team is a bunch of DHs
  17. Coop's effectiveness as a pitching peaked years ago. He serves the Chairman in other roles.
  18. Who the hell does? How much beating folks over their heads does it take.. Over 3 decades of this crap..he needs to move on. Even Veeck couldn't stand to be in the same ballpark with either of them
  19. Cease would be the most logical replacement for Rodon on any MLB team that isn't run by Reinsdorf. Heck on most of those teams, he's already in the rotation at the beginning of the season. Wasting away in the minors.
