  1. The fragile egos in Reinsdorf's FO will have a hard time dealing with yet another less than stellar first round draft pick.
  2. He'll He'll be fine as long as they concede his contributions will be strictly offensive. Again, you don't get a 5-tool regular position player and a potential ace for Quintana. Frankly, I'm shocked the Sox got what they did.
  3. I don't disagree but the nitwits in the FO had better come to realization Big Daddy is not a two-way player and to save his career, he needs to be put at first or permanent DH.
  4. Among Reinsdorf's many visionless moves was letting Harry get away and losing a generation of Sox fans with a move to pay TV. Imagine Reinsdorf having the same positive impact on his own organization as he had on the Cubs.
  5. What's so amusing ? This trade could very well come down to Cease vs Q. What was St Theo going to do with Eloy with those defensive liabilities in the NL? And I don't care how good or bad these so-called prospects look in the minors. We don't know what we got until they begin to play at this level. And this owner has made it crystal clear he has no intentions of spending his way out of mediocrity. So unless you're good at waiting another 3 to 5 years to even see whether these guys are actually MLB caliber players, have at it. I'm not.
  6. Reinsdorf is no better at talent evaluation than Kenny-Hahn. Proof is he put Kenny-Hahn in their current roles and his know-it-all massive ego keeps them there.
  7. I sure hope so. It's time to contend. They have the back-end of the bullpen.
  8. If he continues to pitch like that, I'm sure he'll take his chances. I love to see some fire and passion from this team.
  9. If Rodon is still on this team next year, he'll be the best #4 starter in MLB - assuming they don't go out and get a vetted ace. Then he's the best #5 starter. -
  10. I wonder what the sentiment would be if we were talking about 20 year old Tatis Jr. SD ownership certainly didn't have a problem bringing him up. We tend to see baseball and basketball operations strictly through Reinsdorfian lenses which is a terrible perspective for a lover of sports and athletic competition. However, to a cold-blooded bean counter, Reinsdorf is a first ballot HOF inductee. If I owned the Sox, at least Robert and Cease would be on the parent club.
  11. They need to stick Big Daddy at DH or 1B and call it a day. If he played the outfield like Mays or Clemente it would have a taken a hell of a lot more than Q to have separated him from St Theo.
  12. And the billion dollar man can't do it all by himself. The Angels are no better with Trout, than the Sox are without him If Reinsdorf was going to commit $600 million to improve the White Sox, I'm building a TEAM of difference makers. I'd rather have Baez than either Machado or Harper.
  13. Completely agree. Yolmer is Joe from the Christmas Carol Hardrock, Coco and Joe. Although we really have no need of Yolmer, he's kept around because we love him so. On his best days, he's a defensive super-sub.
  14. Sox may come back and win this game despite Renteria. I hated the way St. Theo just pushed him aside when Maddon was hired. But now that I've gotten to watch him up close......
  15. This is why folks have to be careful about claiming victory in trades. This trade may come down to Q for Cease. Hitting the ball all over the minor leagues doesn't guarantee success at the MLB level. That's why I'm all for rebuilding with the prospects taking their lumps up here.
  16. The champaign corks were popping all over Clark and Addison when the Sox chose Rodon over Schwarber. But knowing the Sox, they probably had no clue who Kyle was.
  17. Hahn sure couldn't handle any of my money. Amazing as money-centric as this ownership is still keeps Hahn around. That Shields-Tatis Jr debacle should have been the last straw given not only the colossal waste of money but the lost of a generational type talent. It may not have cooked his goose with Reinsdorf but you'll never see Hahn getting another chance to run another major league sports organization into the ground. I don't think it has anything to do with loyalty. Reinsdorf has the biggest ego in both of his organization. Getting rid of Gar-Pax or Kenny-Hahn is as close as you get to him. He'll never give us the satisfaction of hearing him admit failure. Never.
  18. The only player on the Cubs I have any use for is Baez. Perhaps when he's up for FA, the next owner might be interested.
  19. Hahn must have snoozed through the scouting courses during his matriculation at Kellogg. Thank goodness there wasn't another Tatis Jr to barter away for Nova. And what's really ironic is had Tatis Jr. still been in the Sox org, no way would Reinsdorf allow him to play at major league level at 20. Robert for all intense and purposes should be up here now. Cease too. Won't happen with that owner.
