  1. Don't understand why he wasn't allowed the opportunity to go 1 more inning with a 4 run lead. I forgot who the manager is.
  2. A middle reliever on a contender is where I would envision Banuelos. But mind you I said contender.
  3. On a contender, Banuelos will be worth his weight in platinum. He's gotta a spot on my team. I really like his stuff.
  4. St. Theo was probably more apprehensive about giving up Cease than Eloy - given his clear defensive liabilities. If NL ever adopts full-time DH, the Cubs have Baby Ruth to fill that position. Eloy was expendable. Q could have been a difference maker. Offense is not a weakness with them. That said, the next Chicago WS will be on the South Side.
  5. Cease is their best pitcher - tells you how far away this team is from contending unless there is an historic change in how this organization is operated financially
  6. Joe West is a much bigger problem. There was no reason to throw any one out. Warn both benches and move on MLB needs to adopt similar rules as the NBA regarding bench-clearing. If I was Tim, I'd appeal it. The Royals announcers take on this incident was laughable.
  7. If Rodon is the best you can do, my original statement stands.
  8. What is the point of tanking when you have Kenny-Hahn as the decision-makers ?
  9. This is why Kenny-Hahn had no business being in charge of a rebuild. They have basically 2 reliable pitchers on this team and they both in the bullpen
  10. Comparing TA to Dennis Rodman was kinda out there But I will say this. There's no second three-peat without him. And his Hall of Fame speech was as classy and humbling as I"ve ever seen.
  11. LOL i don't know which Bryce Harper you're talking about but the one that plays for the Phillies has a script (with a supporting cast, too boot) straight outta Dreamworks and Disney. It's a wonder Harper doesn't get drilled every time he comes to the plate. I didn't care about the Sox taking a pass on him. Manny was the guy they needed. Go Tim !!
  12. Oh please. Do you watch the theatrics surrounding a Bryce Harper homer ???
  13. If that's true, I feel sorry for him. There a lot of players on this roster that to me have far less talent than Palka. They need to be sent down or DFA'd. I still believe he could be an offensive force. I'm looking for him to make a triumphant return. I just hope it's not with some other organization.
  14. KC is trash. The only way that crappy ass team was beating the Sox today was to eliminate their two difference makers - which they managed to do with a little help from their friends. But this was an early pulse game - to see how this team would fare under adversity. Notta too good. This is why the only true measure of a rebuild is with the future up here at the major league level learning how to play the game and taking their lumps. If they lose 90 games under those conditions, I have no problems with that But Reinsdorf won't even allow that to happen because he is so damned afraid he's gonna give some players $1 more than he's ready to pay them.
  15. No Sox fan should overly surprised. Their approach in situations like this is piss poor. They're into high testosterone hero ball. Homer or bust. Two ground ball OUTS to right side and they have the lead. When they start doing that is when this team turns the corner. It may just be those type of difference makers just ain't on this team yet. And with this owner I wonder if they'll ever be.
  16. Yes it was. He gets himself out more than any so-called power hitter I've seen. And he seems to find the most game pivoting situations to do it He's a far cry from his first few seasons. The league has caught up to him.
  17. I sure hope Kenny-Hahn keeps the backend of this bullpen. Good relievers are hard to find.
  18. Sox have exactly two bullpen pitchers on this current 25 man roster that are remotedly contender quality. Ownership enjoys their profits from being non-competitive. To them rebuilding is perpetual.
  19. Thank you. Big Daddy can't do it alone. This org has many holes to fill
  20. No it's not. The team is worth 1.6 billion. But hey as long as fans continue to be apologists for this ownership, why should any thing change. He makes money despite the low attendance in baseball. But he sells out UC nightly. Sox and Bulls both near the bottom in payroll. Do your homework. Hyperbolic it ain't.
  21. Reinsdorf is not a sportsman. He's a businessman who has figured out a way to be profitable without being competitive - to the absolute delight of his investors. His shtick is the circus of sports. Tasty but colon-clogging food; fireworks, give-a-ways, helium-filled Bennie the Bulls, Kids dancing to YMCA ..all to distract from why most folks go to a sports event - to see talented athletes play the game. He's P.T Barnum 2.0 and he's master at it. Kenny-Hahn and Gar-Pax have jobs as long as they continue to do his bidding.
