  1. Spend some friggin money on a couple of aces and have Kopech-Garrett as your modern day Gossage-Forester.
  2. We'll never get elite decision makers and difference makers until the Sox are under new ownership
  3. There are enough global oligarchs out here that would buy CWS. No other major market team perhaps in any other professional sport has the kind of clear path to perennial post-season play than CWS. It's a damn shame we got stuck with this current ownership for this long.
  4. The reign of terror is over when the Reinsdorf cabal is no longer in the owner"s suite. This ending was predictable the day TLR was hired.
  5. The entire Reinsdorf tenure has been nothing more than a series of 3 to 5 year rebuilds. He refuses to spend money on elite front office decision-makers and on-field difference-makers. Had he ponied up for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of signing Harper-Machado it would dramatically altered the organization's profile. He should have sold after the 2005 parade.
  6. Actually congrats are in order for Jerry (P.T.Barnum 2.0) Reinsdorf for will likely be an inconsequential second place finish. Keeping us thirsty, Jerry ? You bet. For new ownership !!
  7. I don't trust Reinsdorf as far as I can spit. We are being spinned as usual. This team is light years from a juggernaut like LAD or the Historical NYY. They thought they could add a few more notches on TLR HOF plack by just being an push-button caretaker. The Baseballs Gods were having none of it. Yes I agree with others: This is a soft-landing for an egomaniac owner and his BFF.
  8. So let's see. 1) The Owner buys the CWS for pennies on the dollar. 2) Gets a notoriously sweetheart of a stadium deal from a near bankrupt state. 3) MLB inserts CWS in the Central Division where they've remained the sole major market team for decades. And in current ownership's 40+ year tenure all we"ve gotten is a one-hit wonder.
  9. CWS will have to be put on the open market to draw the kind of financial firepower and marketing prowness required to finally put this organization on a projectory similar to LAD, NYY or SD.
  10. 3 years ago CWS needed position player upgrades at C, 2B and RF. (Pitching upgrades are eternal.) Today the same position-player issues exist along with the self-inflicted wound of hiring TLR as manager.
  11. You are correct sir. Took unnecessary chances with most injury-prone player on the team.
  12. Catching Lightening in a bottle has been an objective ever since Reinsdorf lucked out with Ellis Burke.
  13. With a P.T. Barnum like ownership, CWS is deliberately built to be a big tease. They got the same friggin' issues they had 3 years ago.
  14. Elon Musk could buy the Sox and put them in a posh stadium downtown out of petty cash. 300 million dollar payrolls to bring in top tier free agents. if the Sox are worth 1.7 billion now, they'd be worth 4 or 5 billion in a few years. Think of the global players who would want a piece of the action.
  15. Short of selling, nothing he can do. CWS has been suffering from the same problems year after year; decade after decade : horrible ownership from Comiskey to Reinsdorf.
  16. Cease got done in by another Hahn DH masquering as a MLB outfielder.
  17. And a middle finger to the base.
  18. Please the umps egg these guys on too. They get in the players faces practically inciting at least incidental contact. I have never seen umps back away either. TA7 is absolutely targeted. And because of that he has to take extra precautions. The JD-Manager and TA7 need to have a conversation.
  19. This is planned obsolescence by the owner. His tenure has been 40 plus years of 3 year rebuilds.
  20. I'd rather see the Sox bring up some of their minor league talent than trade it. Everyone is stuck on winning the division. The goal is getting to and winning the world series. That ain't happening this year with this "all-out" owner, his incompetent front office and well past his prime manager. The same issues that plague the Sox for the past several years still haven't been addressed (2B, RF , eli SP). The Sox need elite talent which comes from signing top tier free agents. Trading away what little talent they have in the minors is an horrendous decision.
  21. Cease Kopech Cueto If they ain't starting, fuggedaboutit The problems CWS had going into last winter's meetings have yet to be addressed: SP 2B RF
