Yesterday the Ray's got shutout by the Blue Jay's and the Yankees won a competitive game against Baltimore in which the score was tied going into the 8th inning.

Are these your projections or someone else's? Current WAR per baseball-reference.com has Moncado at 3, Mccaan at 2.7, Garcia at 2.2, Anderson at 1.8, and Abreu at 0.6. I have a hard time believing last year's position players will finish higher than this year's in terms of WAR. More less finish with almost double.

The Sox look to be trending towards another top 5 draft pick. Detroit and Baltimore appear to have a hold on the bottom two spots in the standings but after that anything is possible. I still feel that the Pale Hose could make a push for the playoffs in 2020 but has the window for contention officially moved to 2021?

I also loved Konerko and still appreciate what Abreu brings to our lineup. I think he still has a place on this team for a couple more seasons. He can DH after Vaughn gets called up. For those thinking Collins will be a better option than Abreu anytime soon I just don't see it. Collins' best tool at this point is his walk rate. I hope I'm wrong but I think a lot of those walks in the minors will turn into strikeouts if he makes it to the show and stops facing pitchers with control issues. Keith Law makes a similar comment towards the end of his FS podcast.

Thome, Donaldson, and Pete Alonso are some of the comparisons I've heard. I see a little Edgar Martinez but would gladly take a younger version of Jose Abreu.
