  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Here's what we do. Put all those who have either started a) a thread bashing the national media for not respecting their belov'ed Sox or b ) those who have created this exact thread time and time again on a boat, send it across Lake Michigan, and sink it halfway. Re-enable the search function on the board and this could have been avoided.
  2. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) I remember when these were first posted. It was funny and we likes seeing our guys having a good time. Then, in the three times it's been posted since, it turned uglier each time. Now the thread title reflects that AJ is with strippers and cheating on his wife... :headshake Sorry, I took it from the article that was in a Minnesota newspaper that was published yesterday. I was hesitant to post this in the first place but them f***ing Yankee fans on another board that I post on were really laying heavy on this and I really needed some ammo to throw back at them. I have it now. Thanks!
  3. QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) Well seeing that our series with the Astros is at minute maid now what do you guys think should they play with the dome or not. Seeing that the Astros have a better record with it, but we have the better record in away games. What do you think about MLB's decision not to allow them to have it. Astros feel that the MLB never cared to make a decision during the course of the season so why now. Sorry don't know how to create polls. Great!!! Another reason for the consipiracy theorists to claim that the White Sox (if they win it all) had it made. Between the calls they have gotten their way and now the home team not being able to retract their roof....UGH! I can hear HR and Kruk and Patrick and McCarver and Buck and so on and so on, now.
  4. Since the search has been disabled on this board, I was unable to confirm is this had been posted before but I found this interesting. Does this affect your opinion of A.J. or do you understand that married men still go to strip clubs. Personally, I don't care that he was there but that is just me. C.J.: Looks like new daddy Pierzynski, our World Series darling, has a taste for Jello-O shots
  5. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/index There's a poll on ESPN Sports asking who are you rooting for. They have a map indicating how people in every state have voted. The Sox lead in IL, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana and Delaware (Delaware?!). Hahahaha!! I guess most of the country is a little depressed tonight. No!!! Not red and blue states again!
  6. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) Hey all, I am looking to join an online money fantasy football league to keep me interested in the NFL since it doesnt look like the Bears are goin to be doing anything. If anyone knows any good websites that offer a moderate ($20-50) enterance fee and offers quality prizes (not the $30 trophy that yahoo gives) will you please let me know. Thanks a lot! -Nick Ahh, but it looks like all is not lost. If Orton doesn't win the starting job, there are rumors the Bears will be trading with Pittsburgh to get Tommy Maddox!
  7. There is a big difference between an Army Soldier and a Marine. I know there is a grey area for civilians but there really shouldn't be out of respect for both services. Each member of their respective services work hard to earn the title and calling a Marine recruiter an Army recruiter or vice versa, is insulting to their chosen profession.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:54 AM) Ozzie - "Pimple on his Daddy's Ass". That should clear it up for ya. Ozzie actually said that about him? That's funny but very thin skinned of Wendelstedt.
  9. I am not sure what his deal is, this umpire. Everytime we get a bad call he seems to be the source of the call. This is ongoing all year and was apparent again last night when Dye threw the ball to first to get Sheffield out and the ball hit A-Rod in the leg. Sheffield should have been out and we should have been awarded the double play. Where does the bad blood stem from with Hunter Wendelstedt that he ends up blowing so many calls with the White Sox? I think I read in another thread on this site that he is one of the WS umps this year or has that not been officially decided yet?
  10. Tell Chevy your feelings about Scotty. http://www.chevrolet.com/contactus/emailus/index.jsp
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) When the Sox came back against Kerry Wood at the Cell and PK was riding the heat wave. 2nd favorite was AJ's walkoff. June 28, 2002 was the game. that is also my favorite game I have attended. 8-0 Cubs going into the 4th and the Sox come back to win 13-9. There were 6 runs scored in the 6th inning. That is the inning that Wood was chased from the game as he only went 5.1 innings. Danny Wright started with Ginter getting the win. Joe Bo took the loss for the Cubs. We used 7 pitchers in that game and the Cubs used 6. Chicago 0 6 2 0 0 0 1 0 0 – 09 11 0 Chicago 0 0 0 1 3 6 0 3 x – 13 12 1 Probably one of the White Sox' biggest come from behind win!
  12. Indians are real... Leprechauns are not... There is nothing wrong with the ND mascot.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) If you downloaded the game from an unknown site it could very well be a virus. It could be the monitor. It could be an error in the POST process. It could also be the system registry. Many possibilities. I reccomend you take it to a professional to get it looked at. Best Buy always helps me... I thought you said to take it to a pro?
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) You keep babbling about how horrible life in America has become but that's just horses***. Unemployment is 5%, the economy is humming along. We have a big defecit but that is getting smaller by the day thanks to the strong economy and as a percentage of GDP is low in comparison with years past. Your paranoia is little more than a frenzy whipped up by the media to score ratings. Indeed, terrorism is pretty far down the list of what people say they are concerned about in those polls those same hysteria mongers in the press take. The argument that whenever we do something to protect ourselves the terrorists win is just horses***. The only way we can be winning according to your twisted logic is to totally disband our security services, police departments and the military because god forbid somebody gets stopped for speeding because that'd be one more small victory for terrorism. :rolly If by GDP you mean the oil companies are cashing in, you are right! This year's crops are going expected to have 30% losses and higher which will require the government to step in and help the farmers. The oil companies will keep raising the price of oil to suit their needs. I can remember 2 years ago, everyone b****ed to their elected leaders the price of gas was too high. It's $2.15 where I am at now (I know that is pretty cheap compared to Chicago but it's high out here) and no one bats an eye about that. We have accepted that it's going to cost us $25+ to fill our tanks now. So when do we say stop? When is it that we have had enough? I can't buy more than two boxes of sudafed at a Wal-mart now. I can't buy lithium batteries without someone having to validate my id and unlock them for me. Now video games are being censored, people are being searched at random intervals on mass transit. If there is hope, it lies in the proles.
  15. Maybe I am selfish but I think it is the challenge of our elected leaders to keep us safe without infringing on my freedom. That is one of the reasons we elect them. I can't help but think that if Patrick Henry was alive today and he said, "Give me liberty or give me death!", our government would give him death just to be on the safe side.
  16. I got an email from the Peoria Chiefs to let me know that Nomar is going to be playing at home this week in Peoria doing his rehab stint. Why is he doing his rehab in Peoria rather than Des Moines? I know this is a Sox board, but I am just curious if anyone has any insight as to why Class A instead of Class AAA for Nomar.
  17. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) Eric something Erik Kuselias He is in the middle of the picture. He hosts the SportsBash on ESPN Radio after the Dan Patrick show. We don't get that in Chicago thanks to Mac, Jurko and Harry.
  18. I was listening with gritted teeth yesterday as Erik Kuselias couldn't say enough about the Angels and Yankees (and Tony Gwynn was getting in on this train of thought also) being the ALCS. He said the Sox were below average team playing above their abilities. He also said their lineup would not allow them to be in the world series. Oh and he believes that they are having a great regular season but a great regular season will not lead to a great post season! I really don't like this guy. Then I wake up this a.m. and on the way to work, this guy is subbing for Mike and Mike and he is trying to stir the pot about Palmiero not being a first ballot HOF'er. It must just be his style to do this. I don't know though because I never listen to the SportsBash in the afternoon. I guess I always thought that Good/Great pitching always beats Good/Great hitting. He would give no credit to a great pitching staff and it really pissed me off! In the end it really doesn't make any difference to me what announcers believe or think because I will support the Sox no matter what transpires.
  19. From MLB.com Home-plate umpire Bruce Dreckman warned both sides after Westbrook hit Dye. Buehrle was told after the game that Kevin Kennedy, a FOX television analyst, said his pitch to Hafner looked intentional. Buehrle said nothing could be further from the truth. It was simply a sinker, meant to move inside on the left-handed hitter, which stayed a little too high and tight. "If I'm going to try to hit somebody intentionally, it's not going to be going for the head," Buehrle said. "That's just plain dirty, and I'm not that way. It just slipped out of my hand. I hope he's all right."
  20. I guess I found this article interesting simply because the Cubs A team (Peoria Chiefs) is in this city. A lot of the article is stuff that has been re-hashed by other journalists but there were a few parts of the article that were noteworthy. Sox are real, and they're spectacular
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) My prediction; someone is going to play in this thing, get hurt, and miss the whole season. It will then be the last baseball world cup. My money's on it being Prior. Well, don't go too far out on a limb with that prediction. *L*
  22. Who do you think should be on the World Cup team? Take out the fact of the timing of the tournament and just factor in who you would like to see playing in those games that will make you want to watch it. To keep it simple, let's just do the American team.
  23. "My season is when I get paid," Sheffield told the New York Daily News. "I'm not doing that. ... I'm not sacrificing my body or taking a chance on an injury for something that's made up." "A lot of guys feel that way. They won't say it like I will, though," he added. - Gary Sheffield -- July 13, 2005 I am not sure how I feel about the World Cup thing yet. I suppose it will depend on how much I care about the players that participate in it come March. I don't think that Sheffield was really going to be considered as a participant anyway as his age and ability will definitely be a factor in consideration and as was shown in the ASG last night, there are many younger players coming up in baseball right now that will represent the United States well for the tournament.
  24. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) These two would be pretty awesome but i'd want to have dinner with KW and get his opinion on certain things and what he thinks about the teams future. Don't you think you would just get a canned response anyway?
  25. 45 minutes before we find out if Pods got in.
