Yes, but the Cubs and Illini are different ends of the spectrum. I, like most Sox fans despise the Cubs with all my heart, where, say in college, i hate Duke and most of all ACC teams, but I'd still rather have Duke win it all then see the Cubs do anything good. By saying you like the Cubs, then why would you be on this message board. I know some people do like both teams, and do not understand the rivalry of the 2 teams, but why does it matter either way that your a fan of a completely different sport to be posting on a Sox site??? On a side note: Why cant Illinois fans LOVE the sox too? I love all my favorite teams, it just so happens Sox are #2 on my list ahead of the Bulls, Cowboys, and Blackhawks.

I was one of the 8! And if you read my profile, you'll see that White Sox are 2nd to Illinois b-ball and f-ball. Im a sports animal, and I root for all my favorite teams with so much passion, that its probably not even healthy. So your saying I cant post here now because I cheer for Illinois(a college sport no less)???

Im trying to figure out why Illinois fans who are also Sox fans cant have a thread for each game in a message board that is called "THE SPORTS BAR". Thats what that board is for, OTHER TOPICS, which would include games of OTHER SPORTS! I know i have started a lot of Illinois threads this year for b-ball, but thats because I know other Illini fans are out there on this board. And personally, whoever got the idea that Illini fans are cocky, I have no idea why, cocky fans cheer for a team thats actually won a national title or two in the last 50 years, not a team that hasnt been to the final 4 in 15 years!

What kind of stupid question is this? Why does it matter if you dont follow college basketball to answer this? Who are the 4 poeple that said cubs? Why am i even commenting on this stupid question. Deron and Head has some nice high flying dunks, but man, that was a very boring game for how pumped i was to watch this game. Kinda disappointed that the Big 10 will only get 3 in, but hopefully they all do damage in the tourney. This Wisky/Mich St should be damn good. Oh, side note, on cbs they have Powell with 2 points, thats pretty good for wearing street clothes the whole time, he must have snuck in when i wasnt looking. Go illini!

Awesome win for Illinois, I was worried when they tied the game with 6 to play, and then Powell gets a knee to the head, Dee and Auggy had 4 fouls, and Johnson and Moye were getting way to motivated. But we stepped up, Deron hit 2 MONSTEROUS 3 pointers, and Luther decided to be God for a day once again. I cant wait til tomorrow, it should be a great game with the Wolverines(My pick?). Go ILLINI!

I wonder if Greasy is watching the Illini/Hoosier game at school.... I just want to say that I LOVE COLLEGE BBALL.... And the fact that this is my last semester at DeVry, and only have 3 classes this term, so I get to watch 11 hours of b-ball thursday-sunday for the next 3 weeks! Its gonna suck when i get a job once i graduate!

You know, maybe i have too much respect for the Hoosiers, but because its Indiana against Illnois, i just have this feeling it will be close as usual. and Ingram got robbed on that turnaround jumper, that was all the way down dammit!!!!! Auggie and Head are playing awesome!! If Augustine can play like this in the national tourney, i can back up my elite 8 prediction. We just need Powell to get going now. I cant believe the effort they gave against Minnesota. This team was absolutely horrible down the stretch, losing Booker must have just kicked them in the balls, because they looked like a team that didnt want it anymore. I thought they would beat Minnesota, and then give Mich St a good test, Lol, guess i was wrong there.

Like i said above, I think they lost their #1 seed. Miss St played in the toughest conference in America, I think they and Ok. State (as long as they both do well in the conf. tourneys) should be #1's, and St. Joes played in the A-10, who has some solid teams, but most of their games were cakewalks. Think about it, St. Joes wouldnt even compete with anybody in the top 5, i refuse to believe that they are good eneugh to be a 1 seed. And this was even before they were getting blown out by 37 at one point today. I've watched them play all year, and Nelson is one of the best players in the country, and West is also very underrated, but if they play any top tier team, they will get beat.

Yeah, im worried about Bracey having a breakout game, but the way Deron has played defense, that may not be possible. While your starters could have a good game, will your bench step up again like they did today? Is anyone watching this Purdue/Minnesta game, quite pathetic looking for a Purdue team that needs to win 4, im not seeing them even winning this game let alone against Mich St and others...

I think they lost their 1 seed personally, but like Dick said in the postgame, really, what does it matter anyway, theres no difference besides prestige between the 1 and the 2. Indiana looked damn good today, and as i said last week, this will be another classic matchup between the Hoosiers and Illniois, should be a great game tomorrow, im gonna have to sneak out of class tomorrow early!

Wow, St. Joes is down 21 at halftime to Xavier, looks like they will no longer be undefeated. Indiana against OSU is starting to become a good game, OSU trails by 4 in the 2nd half after being up 11 in the 1st half. Something about HD telecasts by ESPN really messes up my sound, i can only hear the crowd, and the announcers are really quiet. But then I go to the Big East tourney, and the sound is fine(a non HD telecast). Anyways, im looking towards a very close game regardless of who we play tomorrow, im not sure I want to play either Indiana or OSU, either one scares me. Go illini!

Wow, Setan Hall loses by 1 to Villanova, on a game winner with 3.5 seconds to go for Nova. Barrett then just rips off his jersey and walks off the court without shaking hands or anything with the rest of his teammates... I know he was pissed, but still, that seems kinda discourteous. Did anyone see that 2nd free throw attempt by Toney El, he must have air balled by 2 feet. Wow, that was quite pathetic. Well, its another 12 hours of b-ball tomorrow, cant wait! Big 10 Tourney is tomorrow!

Just thinking here, but Illinois could play Illinois-Chicago if they can pull off a 3 seed. And then play Kansas maybe in the 2nd round? Wouldnt that be fun? Hopefully in Milwaukee though, and not Kansas City.

I think they are in if they win 2 games in the Big East Tourney, because 2 wins would signify that they beat UConn as well, so I think they will get in if they do that. They have a good chance to do this too, because Okofer might not even play in the Big East Tourney at all because of back problems, so ND unfortunatly has a good chance.

I dont know, I mean, I wanted Weber to get the award of course, but you got to think Carmody did more for Northwestern this year than anyone could have expected. They finished .500 in the conference for the first time in like 35 years i guess, so i think he rightfully deserved the award.

Wow, i hope this is true, I always find myself questioning why he never just batted left against southpaws, because it seemed like when he batted right handed, it felt like it was going to be an automatic out. I wonder how much this will affect whether he'll be in the starting lineup when a lefty is pitching.
