  1. I agree that he came off cheesy and corny at times, but that's the real Jason and he never tried to be someone he's not, which makes him Identifiable, and I don't think anyone is questioning his passion.
  2. To say your team needs to "clean up it's defense" is not a compliment, especially when they don't show any true power other than Robert to overcome their defensive deficiencies. If Eloy hit 40-HRs that would go along way to cover up his lack of speed and defense when he's allowed to play the outfield. He hit 18 HR in 456 AB's, not exactly my idea of a power hitter. Benintendii and whomever they put in RF is no better. We have 1 true outfielder that can hit for power and play defense. One 3B baseman who can play defense but if I believe all the stories is still experiencing long COVID, or maybe that's just all the energy he brings but it seems as if he could care less. There's not much else on this team to like, maybe Vaughn but he runs with a piano on his back and the Sox screwed him up by playing him and Sheets out of position. Cease is great, and then he's so-so but he's about the only one who can attract a trade partner. We have no other players worth mentioning or anyone else would want. https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-white-sox/getz-aims-to-strengthen-white-sox-defense-need-to-become-more-athletic/
  3. It certainly does when he can't stay on the field after injuring himself running to first base or getting stepped on in a scrum. His batting stance sucks also.
  4. Our new GM made the following statement to start off the winter meetings.....“I don’t like our team,” adding that it’s “not a well-rounded club” That's a great way to attract a potential trade partner. Hey let me trade for your great defensive shortstop, right fielder, 2b, catcher or starting pitcher for one of my underachieving, clueless, error prone players. I have to hand it to Getz for being honest, but not when you're trying rid your team of that type of player you don't advertise their deficiencies.
  5. Franchise and Intelligent baseball, 3 words that will never appear in the same sentence when describing the White Sox front office.
  6. It's really a sad state of affairs when Brooks has the nerve to say that "career-changing opportunities", is the reason. I didn't realize a broadcasting gig in Detroit of all places is career changing. As said by many others already, that other teams let their broadcasters explore national opportunities.
  7. "Van Lier brings it up between the rings", "from the twilight zone", "Butterbean from the corner...good". I wish I could think of more. Or this call....."The inbounds pass comes in to Jordan. Here's Michael at the foul line, the shot on Ehlo...GOOD! THE BULLS WIN IT! THEY WIN IT!
  8. wrong take....fans do care which is why attendance declined. I for one didn't renew last year because of the direction this club was headed and thankfully I made the right decision.
  9. Only if they bring back Falstaff
  10. I disagree, mainly because "real, identifiable and passionate" are all words I would use to describe Jason.
  11. Agree, I know people who knew him personally and he was a die hard Sox fan like us. Surprising he went to another MLB team in the division, I would have thought he'd go national because of his side gigs.
  12. Couldn't agree more, and yes I was a Cubs fan also until about 12 years old for the same reason until an older neighbor scolded me for rooting for the Cubs. That was back in the day of Dick Allen, Bill Melton, Carlos "missing a thumb" Lee and Walter "No Neck Williams" and I never looked back. That was 52 years ago and I still remember the "Roof Shots" of Fisk, The Bull, and Kittle that brought excitement to the Southside.
  13. I said "Thought about" which is different than actually doing it. BTW thinking about switching is drastically different than " I think the Sox should move to Nashville and stop being the White Sox". Of course I wouldn't switch to the Cubs, but the thought crossed my mind and if you read my entire post I follow that "thought" with "I always find my way back to the cliff I have no intention of jumping off".
  14. And then there's this...... https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2023/11/7/23951601/with-invaluable-experience-tony-la-russa-stays-involved-with-white-sox God help us please!!!!!!!!
  15. I let two of my daughters marry Cubs fans, so I may as well especially since one of my grandson's is a Cubs fan. Thank God my other grandson is a Sox fan, most likely because he wants to be different than his brother, but I'll take it. I almost started a family fight when I was forced to watch the Cubs NCLS victory over the Dodgers in 2016 at my daughters house and my son-in-law brought out a Cubs banner and was waving it around with my sister another Cubs fan.
  16. If Grady's a Major League Coach it just confirms my thinking that Daryl Boston wasn't.
  17. I can't do without baseball but to clarify I also said " I always find my way back to the cliff I have no intention of jumping off". Nothing wrong with dreaming about what it would be like to be a fan of an organization that does things the right way and makes it a destination opposing players and managers want to be part of.
  18. Disco Demolition which I attended as well, was one of the lowest points in Sox history. Not a fan of disco and wasn't a fan of Steve Dahl either. I listened to WXRT 93.1 or Triad 106 FM and stayed far away from Steve Dahl's Loop. I went to see a baseball game and it turned into a riot.
  19. Kudo's, that's an impressive form of mind control you have to have NEVER thought about it. Maybe because you don't live in or near Chicago and don't get to experience what's it's like to be a Sox fan in the same city with a Cubs team that most players and managers having nothing but good things to say about them. You always hear former Cub players say what they love about Wrigley, but you be hard pressed to find those comments said about the Sox. Another example.....While the Cubs are linked to free agents Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Pete Alonso and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Not to mention Cody Bellinger and Marcus Stroman, who opted out of their deals but could return to the Cubs. While on the south side we get to hear names linked to the Sox like, DeJong, Merifield, TA, Clevinger, and Perez.
  20. We all have thought about switching teams I'm sure, but it's hard to leap over to the North Side and root for the Cubs. I keep starting a post saying I'm done with the Sox but never hit "save", and I always find my way back to the cliff I have no intention of jumping off. Not sure why because ownership has s%*# on us time after time.
  21. Maybe because the Sox are running out of available people from KC, or because no coach in their right mind would pick the Chicago White Sox as a destination so our options are limited to losing organizations.
  22. Well I was thinking it was Eric also and I was a little excited thinking he could teach the Sox a thing or two about launch angle.
  23. One MLB team in Chicago cares about winning and is willing to go all out signing top managerial candidates when they hit the market, while the other either goes dumpster diving for people like Pedro, Tony and Ricky, or they keep it all in the Family and hire Robin and Ozzie from within. And they do the same dumpster diving when it comes to free agents.
  24. 5 years 40 Mil, highest contract ever for a MLB manager.
  25. Marketable LOL, maybe if he became the spokesman for Trojan condoms.
