  1. I think some Sox fans value TA more than the rest of MLB.
  2. Maybe Michael Conforto who many people wanted can decline his 18M player option. Then again after posting a 0.07 War, to go with a .239 BA, 15 homers, and 58 RBI he'll most likely stay put. Glad we took a pass on those numbers for 18 mil. Never thought I say this but for 735,000 and almost 100 less at bats, I'll take Gavin Sheets numbers before I'd pay Conforto 18 mil.
  3. I went to 1 game this year at Yankee stadium. I vowed not to give JR any of my money. I did purchase the Buehrle sliding tarp bobblehead, but that $ goes to White Sox charities.
  4. And then the Sox made him play in the outfield instead of his natural position. Sox player development is the problem, they should have never brought him up with Jose still manning 1B. The pressure of learning a new position, while your position is occupied by the best player on the Sox messed with his hitting stroke, that and all the static and bad information that was told him by Sox coaches.
  5. Jake hit 25 bombs with the Sox in 294 at bats and 9 for the Marlins in 198 AB, I'm not seeing what you're claiming. Jake hit a homer every 11.76 AB's for the Sox, while it took 22 AB's to hit the 9 for the Marlins. I said once on this site that I'm not good at Math, but I think I got this one.
  6. Anyone see Eloy go down like a redwood after taking the pitch off his toe durning the last series? Granted I'm sure it hurt, but he was down on the ground in a hurry like he was shot moaning and yelling. Get rid of him, another distraction and as you said an injury waiting to happen.
  7. Colin Kapernick is a good example that proves your point.
  8. Worst 4 years of my life. I've been to 4 grammar school reunions, recently went to my 50th but have yet to return to Rice except for a high school football game.
  9. It's cheaper for JR to give away $1 tickets and close the upper levels just so they don't have to pay for staffing, security, cleaning etc in the closed sections.
  10. What If.......Eddie DeBartolo should have been the owner in 1980, but the American league voted against him and the rest is JR history.
  11. I was never good in Math, and the brothers at Rice didn't help.
  12. There was a 280-acre site in Tinley Park that would fit a ballpark. https://www.tinleypark.org/government/current_projects/state_campus_property.php
  13. A ballpark won't be going up on JR's UC land parcel. It's too small and there's housing going up on the adjacent property. https://therealdeal.com/chicago/2023/08/04/jerry-reinsdorf-makes-17m-land-play-near-united-center/ Additional note: That leads one to believe Reinsdorf's play could be expanding Stadium, a multi-platform sports network that he is the majority owner of. Stadium is currently housed inside the United Center, and adding facilities nearby would allow room for expansion in a growing streaming media market.
  14. Of course he will be because it's a contract year for him, then once he has a new contract secured he'll be back to looking at strike 3.
  15. Sox Marketing department is the worst. I think it's showing how Getz can be Kenny Williams with shades in the upper left, and tight lipped Rick in the lower right, with a BIG Getz in the middle showing everyone he's a combination of Kenny and Rick. If that doesn't excite Sox fans!!
  16. It's always gotta be a win win for JR, at least what he believes is a win. Instead of caring about the fans and drawing more in like Rocky Wirtz did, we hold concerts after the game to attract the best baseball rapper crowds in MLB.
  17. I agree with all, except the Goose might not want to return with bullets being discharged in the park, but it would definitely be an improvement.
  18. IE, isn't Getz in charge of fundamentals and player development in the minors? I expect the announcement to come sometime over the Holiday Weekend. Perhaps Saturday afternoon. This team is so predictable.
  19. It was all a set-up, Kenny was retiring anyway, and Hahn simply had to go because JR let Kenny retire instead of watching this mess any longer. JR and Kenny made up their minds to promote Getz and to stay within the family. What a fxxxing joke this team is. Tonight we got to watch Sosa one of Getz's star players think bunting for a hit was a good idea there tonight in that situation. I find it hard to watch anymore.
  20. OK already.....I'm just saying Madrigal gets injured as much if not more than Eloy and he who laughs first, doesn't always laugh last. I'll take Dylan Cease who was the real value in the trade that brought Eloy.
  21. This from the team that took Madrigal, and Hauer who have yet (154 games) to play a season combined between the two of them in three years??
  22. No, that comes when we find out who JR hires.
  23. Tim finally hired a publicist to write for him, since there's no way those are Tim's words.
