I want Torres, but the Yanks need relievers so I don't think these players will work, but a combination of Kelly-Graveman or Liam should get it done.

900 million split between 30 teams is 30 million each or the cost of signing 1 superstar. Not to mention the cost of feeding, equipping, transporting, and putting them up in a hotel among other expenses. Not saying it's right, just saying that's the cost of doing business. Plenty of other sports including the NBA are selling their jersey's as ad space so it was only a matter of time. Look at last years UMPs with the FTX logo as another example.

Dave Dombroski was a South Sider who began his career with our Chicago White Sox in 1978 and moved up to assistant GM to Roland Hemond, but was let go by none other than the Hawk. We all know what he went on to do from there when given the money to spend by owners that actually care about their fans.

Sox have used far too much money signing relievers in the past when a lot of teams get by with players developed from within the organization. We need to spend money on player's that can play on the field 5-7 day's a week, instead of relievers who pitch to 3 batters. Torres had a 4.1 WAR and hit 24 HR's last year, I'll take any defensive shortcomings for that any day out of 2B. Torres committed 7 errors at 2B last year and 1 at SS in 140 games. While he doesn't solve the need for LH batter, use the money saved to sign one.

Yankee's need relievers, we need a 2B. If we're to rid ourselves of those 3 contracts we would have lot's of money to spend on one of those outfielders mentioned in the original post. Nimmo and Robert patrolling the outfield with Colas would look pretty good.

No they won't sign any of those choices. JR is not spending on any of them although Benintendi would be my choice if the Sox find the resources. Nimmo is looking for a BIG contract and won't be signing here. Think more along the lines of Kiermaier, Pham, Peralta, or Grossman. This is the Chicago White Sox we're talking about, Colas will be brought up, and I have a feeling Eloy will split his time between DH and LF (Ugh) until he get's injured. I hope they trade for Gleyber Torres. We can send the Yankee's Kelly, Graveman, and Hendricks if that what it takes and find some solutions to replace them within the organization.

I would say he's staying, mainly because he's JR's and TLR's boi and they owe it to papa Duncan.

I totally agree with the first part, however when you're at a game observe the other teams first base coach who are constantly in the runners ear giving instructions. Then compare that to Daryl who basically collects the pads and gives the runner a pat on the ass. Isn't a first base coach there to give the runner on first base running instructions, as opposed to outfield instruction? The base running coach should be the first base coach not an outfield coach. It may not seem important to some, however I disagree and we sure didn't look too good on the bases last year running into outs that should have been avoided. You can't see this on TV, but if your at the game sitting on the first base side it's pretty obvious.

So when a runner gets on first base instead of giving them some base running instruction, we place our outfield coach as the 1st base coach. Well at least Daryl will be there to collect their pads. This is Sox logic at it's finest.

Daryl led the outfield and base running instruction which should be reason enough to dismiss him as we didn't fare to well in either.

I agree, he was done with the Sox which was most likely the reason he asked to sit out the last game and remained quiet during the year about resigning. He's a humble man That believes in respect. He respected and appreciated the White sox for signing him and wanted some respect in return for the effort he gave them which he never got.

Not sure what "better" things JR's way brought us, but I can think of many "worse" things.

Herm was constantly rubbing player's down. Most player's seemed more relaxed and not as muscular or tightly wound as today's players, there were exceptions in the 70's before the steroids took it to another level. Even today most player's are lean and muscle bound, look at Moncada for an example of someone tight as a drum. Here's hoping our new manager, and hitting coach can turn that muscle into more balls clearing the wall and this team could soar.

I can remember reading national reports that the Sox were 11th, which would put them slightly above average. I couldn't believe it at the time because we had lost and continued to lose, or play injured players all season. 4th sounded about right to me, not sure where 11th came from, but I read it somewhere besides SoxTalk.
