  1. To say that "a couple of guys could have coached the 85 Bears" is probably true. However Ditka was hired in 1982, and it was those years that formed the 85 Bears. Ditka got rid of those that didn't have TWTW and molded the 85 Bears into Champions. To say that anyone could have managed the 85 team is selling short what it took to get to the Super Bowl.
  2. Now you're beginning to understand how SoxTalk works
  3. Casting a wide net allows Management to hear from different sources what they would do to fix the White Sox. It allows them to get an idea of what other teams think of their players and what they would do to turn this franchise around. The more information you can gather on your own team the better. I applaud the White Sox extensive search. For those who like to speculate on the hire and fantasize about the next Mgr., this must be you're nirvana.
  4. Who doesn't put their family above all else. Guess what?......we'd still be searching for a World Series if Ozzie wasn't the manager in 2005, so it's not nonsense. Do I want Ozzie as our 2023 Manager? no, much Like Ditka Ozzie wore out his welcome and I want a new Manager with no affiliation to the White Sox. Either current WS coaches Espada or Long would be a fresh start and to hear Espada is out is discouraging.
  5. Not exactly sure if they're all passing on him or he's eliminating himself. Could be he knows Dusty is retiring with or without a World Series and has already been promised the Astro's job. Either way, I know little about him to say he's the best candidate out there. If he was the best (not implying you said he was, I get the sarcasm) he would have been hired last season.
  6. Exactly...."I was honored......" is past tense.
  7. It's all a guessing game with everyone trying to claim the title of "See I told you so" by throwing names out there.
  8. I think so too, I think that is why there's been no announcement even tho he was also a strong candidate for the Miami and Sox jobs. He may have been the White Sox choice, and he may have accepted on the condition that if Dusty retires he's taking the Astro's job. That could be one reason why the Sox are still supposedly interviewing and moving on.
  9. Pretty sure if Espada and the Sox have already agreed on his hire, The Astro's, Sox and MLB wouldn't want it announced during the World Series while the Astro's are still playing.
  10. Aaron Rowand and Joe Crede I agree. In fact I still say getting rid of Rowand was the downfall of the 2006 team. IMO Steve Perry ruined Journey. You had a hard rock band made up of great musician's and added a pop singer to sell records. Great voice no argument, but I prefer pre Perry Journey.
  11. J.T. Realmuto earns $24 mil, I wouldn't consider that a minimum salary
  12. "Wow. That's really incredible." I have to agree.
  13. Must have been a picture of an empty park to be called "Fall in Chicago".
  14. Talk about not looking good, the Yankee's brought Billy Martin back 5 times. Maybe we should just easy off on Ozzie after all he did what no one before him could. https://www.12up.com/posts/every-time-billy-martin-was-fired-by-george-steinbrenner-as-manager-of-the-yankees-01e58pd96bpa
  15. I don’t take this for granted. But, frankly, I believe there is no one who is harder on me than I am. And when I look at a year like this, it requires me to look at myself too and the way we are doing things and try to figure out if we are the right stewards to get this, because White Sox fans have been incredibly supportive throughout this rebuild… and you want to reward that. They deserve it. And, if it ever got to the point where I felt I wasn’t the right person in my world, I’d step aside. And I’m lucky enough to have the support. Rick....it's taken 8 years and you haven't delivered, I think it may be time to take your own advice and STEP ASIDE.
  16. Don't forget the 3 moves we did make in Kelly, Graveman, and Diekman that are on the 2023 books at 21 million instead of Rodon who signed for 2 years at 22. Hindsight of course because Rodon didn't have the best injury history but we need to start developing relievers instead of buying over the hill chokers.
  17. Naylor proves again he's pretty classless.
  18. TA's bat epic bat flip in April put the Sox up 2-0 in the fourth inning. While they weren't behind, there was still plenty of game left and many including the Royal's thought it was uncalled for. Not sticking up for Naylor but at least his actions took place in a playoff game where every play is a big moment. Certainly a HR to bring your team within 1 run is cause to celebrate, but put your head down and round the bases and celebrate with your team. The main difference I see is TA was trying to fire up his team, where Naylor's actions were directed at a player.
  19. The difference between winner's and loser's. Tatis > Shields Machado > Jon Jay and Yonder Alonso Harper > Dallas Keuchel and Yasmani Grandal Wheeler > Lance Lynn Rodon > Velasquez, Kelly, Diekman, and Graveman Cleveland's defense > White Sox playing first baseman in the outfield
  20. Absolutely nothing, I copied and pasted it from an article because I wasn't positive Harris had scored the winning run so I looked it up prior to posting. I thought it was an interesting fact so I left it in.
  21. The 20 game plan I've had since 2019 does not give you playoff tickets to every game. You were able to purchase all the wild card and division games, 1 ACLS, and 1 World Series guaranteed. With that said, you were able to buy additional ACLS or WS if there were any available after half and full season ticket holders, plus MLB's seats, sponsors etc. As far as renewing, I was on the auto-renew payment plan so I had to call them Friday to tell them I was canceling. After speaking to my rep., they are offering a 10 seat/game voucher which get's you some benefit's tho not guaranteed postseason seats. After going back and forth he's holding my 3 seats until late November and he's going to give me a call back about my seats. That should give me some time to see what their going to do with a coach which may be enough to get me to renew depending on the hire and his staff which hopefully will be somewhat in place by then.
