Admitting a Wrong: Kenny Williams vs Rick Hahn
A-Train to 35th replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Can't believe we are actually having a thread about who's better KW or RH. They both aren't very good at their jobs based on the Sox record the last 20+ years. -
Morrissey must be reading fan comments here...

Me either, but some people are technically challenged -
What they do now?

Anyone surprised that Moncada's sitting this one out with his sore foot. Not sure how Abreu can respect Moncada as a baseball player.
-
Matt Spiegel's assessment, really!!! This board already came to that conclusion many moons ago.
-
BTW someone took away my ability to edit my posts, so pardon the Dan Bernstein spelling error.....hummmmmmm I wonder who that could be?
-
Who cares what Dan Berstein say's. It's not like we haven't heard this a few times already in the past couple of weeks. This isn't news, until it happens.

Admitting a Wrong: Kenny Williams vs Rick Hahn
A-Train to 35th replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Choosing between the lesser of 2 evils is no way to manage a baseball team. My vote goes to neither KW or RH, both are no good at their jobs. -
I refuse to watch, only came here for updates.

Indifference means you don't care who wins. You specifically said you wanted the Twins to win. You're big into clowns, which is kinda weird.
-
Treason is the word that comes to my mind.
-
Well said. How can anyone on this board root for the twinkies.
-
I can't agree with either of you, the TWINS are public enemy #1 in my book, although the Guardians have taken over that spot after their classless division winning celebration.

Mark Gonzales wonders what is next?...

The Guardians tried to pull the plug at the trade deadline, but Terry Francona had his team prepared to play every game with a hustling defensive orientated ball club who knows how to play situational baseball. Example, 1 out man on third, Jose Ramirez up to bat. Instead of trying to kill the ball, Jose sticks his bat out and lofts a fly ball to right field for an out to score the runner on third with the go ahead run. He did this more than once to the White sox and the team in general was always hustling out of the batters box while they Sox were saving their energy on their Managers orders for the postseason that never happened. -
No way Hahn/JR was going to give away 2 players and not get anything in return except a bunch of blown leads. Your correct about the obvious answer, we shouldn't have just cut bait on Kimbrel like we should do with Leury, but that's not happening either.

Corey Dickerson, Kole Calhoun, Joc Pederson, Tommy Pham, and Brad MIller (listed as a LF) all earned 5 million or more on the free agent market last year. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/2022/

And who else was going to offer us something/anything for Kimbrel other than the Dodger's................? We needed to part ways with Kimbrel and the trade solved that, while it didn't solve our outfield problems, imagine having no Pollock to take innings away from having to play Sheets everyday compared to watching the bird man blow another game for us. No thanks, I'll take Pollock.

Funny........There's only one name on JR's list if TLR health get's in the way and it's Cairo. Do you actually think JR will pay TLR's 4 mil salary next year in addition to the salary of any of the above choices. I highly doubt it.
-
I wouldn't put it past him to say so long to this sorry organization and take the buyout. If he takes the 5 mil and signs with a contending organization for 5-8 million he'll be in a better situation and will make nearly the same money. Who wouldn't take the buyout to get themselves away from the Chicago White Sox.
-
If KW retires, and Hahn moves up a spot, we need to be afraid of JR promoting Daryl Boston to Assistant GM before a search begins for an actual GM

I'm sure the Sox shitty play and the pressure of losing caused his heart to jump a few beats which set off the alarms. It most likely was real, but I also think overblown a tad bit and provided an excuse when one was needed badly to light a fire under this team. Sox needed a spark, and Cairo provided that temporarily, until he kept telling everyone that he talked to TLR daily about the lineup for input. That and Tony showing up in Oakland for Stewart more than likely caused the team to question TLR's dedication to the Sox and his health issue. One thing I will give Cairo credit for is the benching of Leury, but it also showed that the Sox bench coach had little or no input in deciding the teams daily lineup during the season. Example, who in their right mind would bat Leury third and play him as much as TLR did.
-
Thinking about why JR overstepped Hahn in hiring Hinch may have been because Hinch wanted to hire his own coaching staff, which is something no Sox manager has ever been able to do.
-
I believe the minor league season ends Sept. 28th.
-
My guess is he will not return, but I will not wait until they announce Cairo as the new Manager in the Spring of 2023. I'm not going to give them any money for season tickets unless we have a new Manager not named TLR or Cairo who has the power to hire his own coaches.
