Give me more Vaughn and Sheets, who needs Colas -
Agree, that's why we need a new owner, that we're never likely to get.
-
I do agree with you and I understand your "Sox" logic. I was just posting the question in general to everyone.
-
Why would the Sox keep Abreu for another year or 2?, and trade his replacement? Sheets is not better than Vaughn at 1B. This team needs to get younger, not older.
-
Since TR is the only salary option available, I would try to trade him and sign Elvis while we wait for Colson. We're not going anywhere with a team made up of 5 starting DH's (Eloy, Vaughn, Sheets, Abreu, and Yas) We need speed, and although TR is our fastest player I would trade him for a couple of prospects that have speed and play good defense.

9/22 Sox vs. Guardians 7:10PM CT

Did they even have a marketing budget for 2022 since they have been going with the same "Change the Game" slogan since 2020. But yes, who in their right mind thought this was a good idea. About as bad as bringing the goat to Wrigley, but at least there was some history there. -

"Change the Game", they should change their SOX because they STINK! As far as changing the demographic, they may have pulled a few fair weather fans from the North Side before this years implosion, but they have a long way to go before they change the Cubs hold on the city. -

Yes he did, but the person to blame is not TLR, it's the jackass that bought this team years ago that's the real source of all our problems. -

Guardians would have made it to third without the hit and run on. -

Yes we do, but it not happening. We'll go into next year with basically the same lineup IMO. -

Sox have a hit and run on and Romy only makes it to second base.....jeeeez. -
I received two or three offers this year for a pregame party, watch batting practice and I only have a 20 game package. Correction I had a 20 game package.
-
Anyone who gave the Sox 2022 playoff money before the deadline which keeps on moving is crazy.
-
a couple million only, really, and we paid Leury 5 million.
-
Your right, but wait we have Leury for another 2 years at 5 million each why would we need Elvis?
-
Their going to get that, no doubt about that. We're watching one team with a heartbeat and another on oxygen.
-
This may be where Jerry came up with the line "just be good enough to finish in second" https://chicagoreader.com/news-politics/sun-times-whiffs-on-sox-stadium-lease-young-and-old-black-and-white-bob-page-updated/ Here's the short story "under this lease, there IS no economic pressure on the owners of the team to field a competitive team to sell tickets. If the team stinks, their revenue drops off–but their rent costs disappear altogether! No gain, no pain.”
-
I plant on retiring in another year, and I'm far from broke. MR. NO IT ALL. FU.

The biggest difference in the AL Central
A-Train to 35th replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cleveland doesn't use "managerial health issues" as an excuse with Terry Francona. The White Sox are fundamentally inept at the game of baseball and have to blame themselves for drafting, trading, and acquiring players with low baseball IQ's and of course playing players out of position. That and the owner picking a 77 year old to manage an up and coming team is absurd. -

For the record he already had a pacemaker which is how the Doctors contacted him when the readings they saw were alarming. Lot's of people younger than 77 have pacemakers. -
Trade him would be a better solution. Too many dumb mistakes, fielding and running misplays he's, not a fundamentally smart baseball player.

Like the rest of us, you will make that mistake again, and again, and again, and again.........
