Yes, he's a free agent Cubs are holding out for a deadline blockbuster deal, and should get a haul, but I hope the Sox don't bite and give up prospects for either.

Sox should offer to pay a portion of Grandal's salary, Sheets and Eloy to the Cubs for Contreras and Happ

Perfect example is what TLR did and didn't do with Yermin. 1. He let him do whatever he wanted, chains hanging outside of uniform, buttons unbuttoned on him and Eloy. Contrast that with Yermin in a buttoned up uniform and no chains showing in San Fran. 2. He threw Yermin under the bus because he hit a HR on a 0-3 count. “With that kind of a lead, that’s just sportsmanship, or respect for the game or respect for your opponent,” La Russa said. “He made a mistake. There will be a consequence that he’s going to have to endure within our family. It won’t happen again.

You obviously never saw Dick Allen. -
Watch the Sox will give up a prospect for Joey Gallo when the Yankees pretty much have to DFA him with all the trades they have made.

Speaking of, did you notice the buttoned up jersey and no chains showing Yermin. Say what you will, once Yermin started showboating by showing off his chains and chest his hitting suffered. The man had talent, he just let it get to his head. Part of the blame is TLR not making the players wear the uniform the way it's meant to be worn. For christ sakes Eloy had 3 buttons undone on his jersey, which to me shows the team has no discipline which is directly the result of the "players manager" wanna be TLR. Tony constantly praises and defends his players as if they were all ALL-Stars. -
Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
A-Train to 35th replied to elrockinMT's topic in The Diamond Club
Look at Rodon's injury history, and then tell me if it was your money what you would have done knowing the contract Boras was seeking. My only concession is the Sox should have given him the QO knowing Boras would get more than that for him which he did, and we would of had a draft pick instead of nothing. It's easy to have hindsight and say he leads the league in pitching now tho. -
Trade Deadline Predictions Thread

Watching the Cubs Giants game last night and I saw Luis Gonzalez take away a HR with a leaping grab at the wall, and Carlos Rodon pitch a great game, two players Hahn let go for nothing in return. Even the buttoned up uniform no chains showing Yermin got a couple of AB's. -
no someone else did asshole

I'll admit I can't remember what happened yesterday, but I don't remember any restrictions imposed last year.
-
I did, were averaging 5,000 more per game this year over last.
-
Attendance average per game is up 5,000 from lasts years average game, and that's not taking into account all the warm weather days left this year..
-
Are you saying attendance is down from last year???? https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHW/attend.shtml
-
The Cubs have the money, I'm surprised they're not mentioned.
-
Hate to say it, but we're all delusional if we think Leury is going anywhere. No way Jerry eats his salary, he's grooming him to be our next Manager. Just like Ozzie, Robin, Daryl....etc. The White Sox don't hire coaches from the outside.
-
He brought Tony back so to answer ....yes Jerry is that stupid.
-
Preaching to the choir, I agree get him up here fast before another single is turned into a double or triple by our corner DH outfielders.
