  1. So based on your astute analogy if JR fired Hahn, then JR can do whatever he wants? As an owner of a business I do what I want just as most successful people do.
  2. Two owners come to mind with little thought. Al Davis and Jerry Jones, wait another one just came to me Steinbrenner.
  3. I have a feeling you don't change your mind about anything. Good for you.
  4. My point was, Tony would have been blamed for pinch hitting a sick player who didn't sleep well the night before and was super under the weather.
  5. Picking up the paper this morning I read the following comments from the Cubs Manager after Chris Bryant pitch hit and ended up getting hit by a pitch, and then was removed from game. "He's felt pretty crappy. So we were running for him no matter what"....."He was just super under the weather", "he didn't sleep much last night. Just not feeling good" . If Tony gave those same comments he would be declared senile and too old to manage for playing a player who wasn't feeling good.
  6. You know this to be fact, or just what you believe?
  7. agree completely, looking at stats Collin's is having a better year offensively then McCann with half the at bats. McCann currently has a minus WAR, we all liked Mc Cann but like you said he wasn't some savior. IMO, he just happened to have a couple decent years before he became a free agent, surprise surprise.
  8. Tony is not a super-computer and yes it's a fact he doesn't make all the right decisions, but neither does any manager regardless of age. Media and disgruntled fans tend to look for a weak spot in a person (in this case Tony's age) and exploit it with endless stories about his declining ineffectiveness. Tony's not perfect but when I look in the paper today my White Sox are tied for 1st place after losing Eloy to start the year so he must be doing something right.
  9. Uggggggh...why bring politics into a baseball discussion?
  10. I voted to keep giving him a chance to play a season unhurt, but the more I think about it I don't think that's possible. If he doesn't hurt himself, like today's effort, he may hurt someone like Robert, Moncada or Andersen which would be a double whammy. DH NOW!
  11. Coop may have done it to save arms from injury, but don't think the other teams didn't know this about Coops staff. That let them focus on the other pitches in a starters arsenal without having to worry about Uncle Charlie. Just knowing the curve could come at anytime can freeze some hitters and should have been used more by Coops staff.
  12. Did you ever hear of tailgating? Much cheaper then sitting in a crowded bar at $4.OO+ a pop!
  13. #1 Reason.......https://www.talkingchop.com/2021/3/2/22310194/baseball-minor-league-season-delay
  14. Adam Eaton .282 Career Batting Average Joe Pederson .230 Career Batting Average Pretty sure who the fool is.
  15. My mistake I meant to type Yoelqui
  16. Still can't hit a lefty, didn't have time to watch all but the HR's I watched were all against righties.
  17. It a losing battle, some people just have to complain no matter what the circumstances are that they know nothing about.
  18. All the drama being played out by this signing makes me laugh.
  19. 1 year deal for both, and most likely neither will play for their current team in 2022 unless they have a great year. Relax people we have Yoenis Cespedes coming who may be given a chance this year if thing don't work out for Eaton/Engle.
  20. Why laugh, why don't you just become a Padre fan and be happy with your 8 SP's
  21. There really isn't much of a market for Cruz unless the NL was to go to a DH. Twins, Sox, possibly the Astros.
